Frankie & Benny’s

pizza could be more tasty. size are ok. portions are ok. Surroundings are ok. good place to have some meals. Staff are friendly.

The perfect place if you’re planning on hitting the cinema. I believe they do a cheap night on a Monday? Shame it doesn’t link in with the cheap night at the cinema on a Tuesday.
Always been served quickly and food has always been good and hot. The price isn’t too high given the lack of competition in the area.
Love the hot chicken wings from there, grilled to perfection!
Lots of parking also that’s always a bonus!
Would recommend if you’re in the area. My parents go often for breakfast as they say that’s real nice also.

The best thing about dining at Frankie & Benny’s is the surroundings.
It does a good job of evoking the sense of a 1930 – 40’s Italian-​American Diner type of venue,
which is pretty good for a franchise restaurant, it doesn’t feel too plasticy or mass produced. The staff are polite and the service is good.
When we arrived the waiter offered us some garlic bread to eat whilst we looked at the menus, I expected this to be complimentary, but it turned up on the bill (‘you should never assume :-) The garlic bread
wasn’t really bread at all, it was some kind of thin pancake with
garlic-​butter smeared all over it, needless to say it wasn’t very nice.
We ordered: —
Hot dog got what we expected!, Pizza On the same pancake thing as the garlic bread,
very little sauce or cheese :-/​I know proper Italian pizzas generally utilize thinner bases,
but I’ve eaten in many other Italian restaurants and their bases were never this thin.
Calzone probably the best thing we got, still using the same base ?!?
Carbonara, I would say probably the worst I’ve ever tasted
(and I’ve tasted a few!), it was stodgy, greasy and the ingredients seemed low quality,
it left an oily texture and taste in my mouth.
The food was sub-​standard especially for the price per meal, but it all arrived at the table hot
and the whole thing came in at around £40 (just over!) Which, while not breaking the bank
was way too much for this quality of food. Two small Cokes came to over a fiver,
which seems a bit much.
There are plenty of places around that offer better quality food for a lot less than Frankie & Benny’s does.
We overheard other customers complaining about their food to the staff, We probably should have too but as we have no intention of eating there again I guess it doesn’t really matter.
In summary, not impressed with the food or the price but, if you like going to restaurants just to look around then this is the place for you. :)

Love it, kids love it. THe portion sizes are good, kids have a massive meal off the kids menu. each childs given a little goodie bag which kept even my brode occupied til the food arrives

Staff are always friendly, everytime I have been the food is of a very high standard. A bit pricey unless you go during the special menu times but worth it.

Frankie and Benny’s is great for a family meal out when you want a little more than fast food. There is a good selection of foods available on the menu from pizza, pasta, grills, to fish and chicken dishes and salads. On the occasions we have been as a family, (including a disabled child), service has been great. A lot of the food is prepared in the open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work. Drinks are a little on the expensive side but overall prices aren’t bad. There is a friendly atmosphere in the place with the background brat pack music playing adding to the feel being in an Italian/​American diner. The food is well cooked usually and decent sized servings. The mixed grill is huge!!! Large parties are well catered for too.
Disbled access is fine and room to move around with a wheelchair within the building, staff also very helpful and car parking right in front of the restaurant.
A lovely family meal with lots of choices of food to suit everyone.

This is part of the well known chain, it offers good food for affordable prices. Being honest though, in the past i have been on 3 consecutive occassions and had to wait up to 3 hours to have my food on the table due to various faults such as some piece of cooking equipment being broken and unusable, so i had to settle for something which was cooked via another method. Should you pick a good time and assuming everything is in working order however you will get friendly service from the staff who when i have encountered problems have been helpless to alter my experience.
