This is a public house downstairs and a pretty tapas place upstairs. I came here with a hen party of 10. The staff all seemed authentic Spanish and were very friendly and helpful. We asked them how many dishes we should order each. They said 3 but the majority of us ordered 4 dishes and a lot of food went to waste :( I ordered the paella, tempura prawns in sweet chilli sauce, chicken skewers and patatas bravas. All my dishes were beautiful and quite large portions, especially the paella and the chicken pieces on the skewers were very big. Other great dishes were garlic bread which was huge foot-long french sticks, olives, mediterranean vegetables, crumbed whitebait etc. Dishes that were a bit disappointing was the overdone Spanish omelette and the spicy ground beef skewers. We were all impressed with the size of the dishes, speed of service and the quality of the food overall. Definitely a place I would recommend to others. The décor was also very nice and you didn’t really notice the noise from downstairs. As we left the place, there were people all over the place, spilling out onto the streets on such a nice night.

I wouldn’t call this a «Public House» as it is a Spanish /Tapas Bar. Anyway, We popped in here during our recent trip to Bowness. It’s a very popular spot and it’s easy to see why. The atmosphere is great — casual and relaxing with a lot of people having a great time! After drinks in the bar, we went upstairs for dinner. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful; our server recommended a variety of options and she was spot on as they were all delicious. The food came quickly and was piping hot when it did. There are a lot of eating establishments in this tourist mecca, but this has to be one of the best.

We are just back from a long week-end in Bowness to see the Air Show(I thought I would lose the will to live, but I actually loved it) and had to let you know about the tapas bar. Hubby could not keep me out of the place. We chose to eat there on Friday night, as we fancies a light bite, we were ushered upstairs where they serve food in the evenings(earlier this year we had a light lunch downstairs) and laughed as we struggled to choose just one or two dishes! We ended up with 8! The monk fish wrapped in parma ham, sublime. The chorizo spicy and sticky, perfect for dipping your garlic bread in. The mixed kebabs worth fighting over, the garlic prawns bubbling in butter/oil, not forgetting the tempura vegetable(my nod to healthy eating, ha ha) The bill, including house wine, came to just over 40 quid for the 2 of us. We then rushed downstairs into the lively bar and spent every penny we felt we’d saved on food, on the divine cocktails. I will be rushing back for more Cosmopolitans asap. We ate there again on Sunday, and again ate half the menu! Gorgeous fresh food, nicely presented and served. Can’t wait to get back there.

Graet taps food. Fairly big selection. Also sell lots of continental lagers and a vast array of beautiful wines. Only downside is it can get very noisy at times and it’s hard to hear yourself think!!! Food is great. Definitely worth a visit!
