shhhh, my head is still hurting from the company’s summer bash last night, so there will be no capital letters in this review. charley’s horse is apparently the uk’s second mexican restaurant. situated in the arches in windsor, the ambience is great. i had the chimichangas as a starter, they were good, but way too small. i followed this up with the prawn and chicken fajita combo, which was too oily for my liking although the mix of spice seemed very nice. cocktails… oh copious mojitos appeared… i didn’t order them, they just kept coming, progressively getting stronger, though i have to say once the sweetness to rum ratio was nailed down, they were very good, though towards the end the rum content got silly. i don’t drink tequila, due to past experiences. they don’t call it to-kill-ya for nothing. i did however have a shot, egged on by colleagues, which was a lot more palatable than the tequila i’ve had before. who knows, maybe by that point i could have drunk anything neat and not known the difference. all in all, an enjoyable experience, lubricated with copious amounts of alcohol. i have a recollection of the maragarita jugs going for £38 — i need to verify that! i will write a better review in an update if i find myself going again.
