Came in for lunch to avoid the usual fish and chip fare and glad we did. My wife had the pumkin rosemary soup and the smoked salmon tartine, which she reports as both delicious. I can confirm that the accompanying pommes frites(these were no chips) were top notch. Me? An out of character choice: the chlli. Made fabulous by the crème fraische. No room for dessert after the two pints of Rebellion IPA which was also tasty. Successful lunching in Windsor.

Visited here multiple times while on business in Windsor. The atmosphere is very cozy and I felt comfortable there dining alone, although they can easily accommodate a large group. The service is friendly and attentive. The chilli was wonderfully hearty and flavorful — perfect for a cold, lazy afternoon(be prepared for a nap afterwards). During each visit to Windsor, I make sure to stop in for their moules et frites. A heaping bowl of Mussels in a delicate, yet rich white wine broth that is always satisfying. The chips aren’t as crispy as they are at The Two Brewers, but the mussels are amazing. Wine pours are quite generous.

This is a good spot. Very good food considering the low price. Wrongly listed in Unilocal as £££ this is in fact £ or ££. £10 for 2 courses at lunch next to the Castle? Sounds good value to me! It’s not fine dining but we had a fine experience.

Yummy Yum! Paleo eats for the win! Especially when its MEAT! Ok, at first take I swore this restaurant was Italian. I don’t know why, I guess I saw the flowery décor and thought Italian. This is in fact a French restaurant. Their menu is small but that keeps ordering simple. I had the lamb shank which was moist and very flavorful. My boss had the lamb shoulder which looked like an entire baby lamb(I realize that saying baby lamb is redundant but the menu didn’t call it a sheep shank so. .). The wine selection was very good and the waitstaff was friendly, outgoing and pleasant which is hard to find in London or int the surrounding areas. The price was a bit on the high side even in pounds(I don’t have the proper symbol on my keyboard for pounds).

We chose to visit Cornucopia due to it’s really reasonable set dinner menu. It was a limited choice, but am sure it was less than £15 for three courses, which is incredible for Windsor. Food was of a good standard and portion size was fair. Staff were good. Everything just felt relaxed.

Not the fanciest looking restaurant but that was more than made up for by the atmosphere, the staff and the food. Despite being a Saturday night and the place packed to the rafters we didnt feel at all rushed, the staff were attentive and very friendly and the food was of a superb quality. I had a mozzarella, tomato and basil salad with a pesto dressing(not hard to get wrong but all the ingredients were all very fresh and full of flavour). I then had fillets of seabass with a creamy pink peppercorn sauce and it was absolutely gorgeous, again fresh, tasty and bursting with flavour. I was too full for dessert! Two people had two courses each with coffee and wine for £59. Amazing value. I’ll definitely be going back.

This is a nice little bistro just by the castle. It has a Mediterranean feel to the décor — lots of yellow, terracotta and small palm plants. The service is friendly and not at all pretentious like a lot of places in windsor. The waiters seemed very informed on the menu and the wines that they had to offer, which is always good. The menu is heavily french and although not overly extensive(which is sometimes a good thing), it is varied. For starter i had the deep fried goats cheese which was fantastic, and then duck — very rich tasting food! it was all cooked very well and reasonably priced. Most mains were around £8−14. Not bad for the area. The only reason i didnt mark higher is that i found the atmosphere a little bland for an evening meal — especially if you are after romance. They could do with better set music or even better, a live pianist :)
