Legoland

Awful place. The staff have no idea how to park cars or move people around a site effectively. Qbot charges are £35 per person and that’s after you’ve paid the hugely expensive entry fee. So for my family of five — it costs over £300 to come and spend the day here. It’s just utterly ridiculous. Zero stars.

Right, I can’t lie, short of them accidentally lobbing off one of my limbs whilst I was there, this was always gonna be a super-​mega-​5-​star-​plus review. Cue enhanced fanboy-​ness!
I’ve been dropping hints about going here as a birthday treat since I was a kid, and finally, at the ripe old age of 34, someone listened!
For someone with an actual Lego man tattooed onto his arm, this was always going to be a good day. Thankfully, it surpassed even my Lego obsessed expectations. First bit you get to is the Star Wars mini exhibition — which is huge, and set with key moments from all 6 films. Even the sight of Jar Jar didn’t dampen my spirits on this one. Literally the best thing I’ve ever seen. I’m now working out how to add a new wing to my house to create my own… I did get told off right at the start for giving Lego R2 a kiss, but I’d do it again
As you go round, there’s loads of little Lego scenes and worlds, which are all very tongue in cheek. Very me! If you do go, you’ve got to visit Atlantis — there’s a full underwater world with sharks, Nemos and a big Lego Atlantis. Epic!
I could have stayed there for days, and I could write a whole novel about what we saw there, but I’ll keep it brief. The Lego mini cities they’ve built are incredible, though I feel a Manchester section is missing…
Only downside, is the sheer volume of kids, though understandable. As long as you’re patient though, and focus on the sheer Lego awesomeness, even they can be tolerated!

There is one really good thing about this place and that is the actual Lego City. That’s where they built replicas of famous buildings and landmarks in Lego. At the same time this part looks like it has been made in the early 90s and just maintained since then.
The rest of the park is an never ending cue with complaining children and tired adults. A lot of the attractions is quite alright, but it doesn’t matter when they are two minutes and the cue was an hour and a half (that is not an exaggeration).
If you decide to go, just don’t do it in a weekend or a holiday, it’s a waste of money. Make sure you bring your own food and drinks if you have any consideration for health and/​or your wallet.

A largish theme park on the out skirts of Windsor this is generally why the traffic is so bad around Windsor.
Myself and the family are lucky enough to be able to cycle in to the back car park and avoid all the traffic. Also it is free to park bikes and around £10 a day to park a car.
Yesterday the queue were massive to get in and if you had to buy a ticket on the day you will be waiting about an hour to get through the gates. I would recommend you buy a ticket online as there are some many deals that you will not get on the gate. Also you can find deals for the car park and it is well worth getting a priority car park ticked as you can get in and out far quicker.
In the park I have always been surprised by the view over Windsor and how far you can see into London. However that I am sure that’s not what you are interested in. There is a massive sensory overload of music, shops and all the rides you can do. The rides have a good range but are mostly for younger kids and I think a 16 year old would be board.
Some of the rides queues are very long and you can be waiting for around an hour to get on. If you get there are the start of the day you can get on most before the rush at 11. I would recommend the submarines for younger kids and the log flume for old.
The food would win awards, mainly for being overpriced and quite a low quality. There are deals but you will still pay to much for a simple burger. I would recommend a pack launch and just keep the kids happy with an ice cream.
All in all a very good day out for you and the kids.

LEGOLAND IS AMAZING! I am 19 I turned into 5 year old me when arrived. The prices of gifts shops and food/​drink was abit prricey but worth it

Legoland looks amazing! Just to go see the Lego is worth a visit. Rides are suitable for children under the age of 12, I think older children will be board. There is a range of rides and activities to do. The computer coding workshop was good. Favourite rides were the water rides.
Haven’t graded legoland 5 stars as it is quite expensive from souvenirs to food. The queues are quite long too!

We went in October 2013 for a 2-​night stay over the Scottish holidays. We got a decent deal on the price due to the holiday not being an English one, and in exchange we got terrible weather!
That, however, was the only terrible thing about the weekend (well, aside from having to get «up» at 3am to drive down on the first day). Absolutely everything about the park was superb. We had three children with us, aged 1, 4 and 11 at the time.
The variety of rides was suitable for all the ages, and the hotel facilities catered for the fussiest child to the pickiest/​nerdiest adult. The décor is simply staggering, staff were wonderful, food was great (especially if you went for the cheap dinner deal as part of the advance booking — full price *is* expensive)…
The room we got had a knights/​castles theme and was just incredible. Games for the children, boxes of Lego to play with, hand-​crafted decorations, Lego-​branded soap, two TVs in the room (one for kids, one for grown-​ups), and so on. Very well designed and laid out.
If I had to pick fault, it was the price of the additional things, such as the food and drink out in the park area — but this is completely on a par with other theme parks. In fact, as one of the restaurants was closing down for a refurb, we actually got a particularly fine deal on burgers on the wettest afternoon.
Our only real regret was in not packing swimwear as my wife was adamant we’d not need it. Despite the atrocious weather, the hotel does have a really cool looking activity pool with slides and water guns… which we didn’t get to use.
Next time. And there *will* be a next time.

So Legoland is on the Merlin Annual pass list which means we visit a couple of times every year. The park is huge and always busy. We grab a train from Paddington to Windsor and then jump on the Legoland shuttle bus. Get there for opening time and dash to the most popular rides… my youngest (age 10) is a big fan of the driving school and also the Dragon roller coaster. Expect to queue for over an hour later in the day so get these done first. Don’t expect to get round everything… simply too much to see and do. The target audience is families with young kids and there are lots of rides aimed at youngsters. Personally I think the water rides are the pick — Vikings’ River Splash will get you seriously wet and thrown about and puts the Rumba Rapids version at Thorpe Park to shame. Pirate Falls Dynamite Drench is also a solid log flume.
Awesome mini Lego village, splash water play area and various shows throughout the day are great options if you want to avoid the queues.
Take a picnic — food and drinks are expensive and dull… make sure you leave sometime for the Lego shop — great selection but it does get very very busy.
No fast track tickets here but instead they offer a q-​bot machine — which basically let’s you skip the queue and prebook your rides. Honestly if you want to get round all the rides then this a must. Not cheap but worth it…

and when they throw in a free day’s worth of legoland fun, if you stay at the resort hotel, it becomes a no brainer.
yes, you most definitely can get cheaper rooms in the windsor area.
but can the whole family stay together in a super well appointed pirate themed room that can accommodate 5, all with their very own bed?
here at legoland resort hotel, you can!
yes, you can actually do a short road trip from london without having to stay the night.
but the paid parking for regular park visitors can be a nightmare, very crowded and muddy at times.
whereas if you stay at the resort, it’s free, and hassle free, parking within stones throw from the resort’s main entrance.
the façade is well decorated with fascinating lego sculptures to greet your arrival.
a stroll through the main entrance and you are in wonderland.
immediately, a lego pool awaits you, not a real pool but a play pen filled with endless pieces of lego to stimulate the most imaginative of minds and to whilst your time away whenever you are waiting in the lobby area.
many more lego sculptures anoint the entire hotel.
a separate queue for checking in and checking out shows how thoughtful they are.
you can also pre-​check in, leave your luggage with the porter and scoot off to legoland immediately!
on departure day, keep the same luggage tags and they will move your luggage from your room to storage when you check out.
the hotel’s rear entrance gives you direct and quick access into legoland, with a lake greeting you flanked by adventure land!
dont forget your reentry chop if you are not done for the day.
back for check in at 3pm sharp and the room was ready with all our luggage send there.
the lifts talk to you and the floor to ceiling themed décor really gets you in the mood.
once through our room door, the pirate theme continued.
it was definitely a WOW moment!!!
kiddo bunk beds with an additional 3^rd pull out, if required and their own tv.
a queen sized bed for adults in a separate section also dressed in theme.
pirate lego figurines, spinning block puzzles and a locked monkey king’s treasure chest with clues for you to find the correct number combination that will unlock it with lego toy spoils laying in wait inside.
other facilities include, pirate themed wet play area, indoor play castle, live entertainment, board games and story books, daily model making competition, bricks family restaurant and skyline bar.
finally, a side trip to windsor castle is only a 10mins drive away or you can use the convenient park and ride from outside the hotel.

legoland windsor resort hotel, AHOY!

I am a theme park junkie and on my March trip to England, I had the pleasure of visiting Legoland. I have a local Legoland in California, but have never been to it. Windsor was my first experience at a Legoland. I visited the park with my boyfriend, his parents and his two small children (3&5).
This is truly a park that all ages can enjoy. As much as I love Disney, Legoland is a much better park for the smaller children, as nothing is too intense or frightening. It’s great for adults, because the theming and attention to detail is so well done. I loved the miniland and just generally walking the park and marveling at everything.
It’s big. We went on opening day and luckily it wasn’t too crowded. Even so, we could not fit in everything with a full day. There was far too much to see and do. We probably missed out on ¹⁄₃ of the park.
The driving school for the youngest children has a very, very slow moving queue. Do that early.
Great staff. They are very interactive with the young children.
i absolutely loved this park and am so happy that I had a chance to visit.

Mehr Freizeitpark als LEGO-​Land, aber dennoch sehens– und erlebenswert. Wenn man Eintritt– und Park-​Tickets im Internet vorbucht, kann man ein wenig Geld sparen. Die zum Teil extrem langen Wartezeiten kann man mit den verschiedenen Q-​Bot Möglichkeiten (Internet oder Tageskasse) deutlich natürlich gegen Aufpreis reduzieren.

Firstly the entry price is ridiculous! Im sure there are some ways of getting a better deal, such as tesco club card vouchers.
anyway we had a very enjoyable time there. Spent most of the time in the shop! We didnt go on any rides as that wasn’t our thing. Lego was, so that what we spent out time looking at. When I say we I mean two adults and no children. You dont need kids to enjoy Legoland :)
