woking carpetright fitters are terrible, they forgot the brass gripper, and then after a week of waiting for it(and numerous trips over the carpet which was flapping about) they nailed it with silver nails the gripper is all bent where they nailed it too hard and it looks terrible. humph.

Carpetright is one of those places that ALWAYS has a sale. In fact, if you ever want to buy anything here and there is no sale on, wait a week and there will be! Although there’s a constant sale the prices are not cheap and you’ll get better carpet and a better service using some of the more local, specialist suppliers. There’s a resonable range of on-the-roll, ready to take home carpets(cheaper end of the ranges) and there’ll almost always be a decent supply of off-cuts and room sized remnants. Carpetright also stock linoleums and laminate flooring, the range of the former being about the most comprehensive in the area. The biggest downside of Carpetright is that they charge you if you want to take a sample of carpet home and they want you to return it within 48 hours. Although the charge is refundable it makes it very difficult to get more than 2 samples(at £25 each the carrying cost gets prohibitive as you pay per sample). You cannot borrow lino samples at all. Staff seem geared towards the hard sell and will try to get you to upgrade on underlay, gripper and so on at every opportunity. There are far better places to get carpet locally — CMS(near Morrissons) is particularly recommended.
