The best buffet I’ve been to. The food is fresh and the noodles are awesome because they make them fresh for u. You can have a little dance on the ground floor on Friday and Saturday nighs. Awesome

Have had a couple of very nice meals here. Plenty of choice, Naan bread cooked fresh as well as your stir fry and very polite staff. They add a 10% service charge at the end, but if you ask they remove it. Also drinks are overpriced, £3.30 for a pint of coke, stick to tap water if you ask me! Other than that, I will be heading back here very soon!

Food– bland and cold. indian variety– none apart from chicken tikkas.(which were cold), otherwise like stated samosas etc-none at all. Only good thing is the nans are freshly cooked infront., and there is variety. Desserts-yuk the ice cream was awful so was the ‘kheer.’ I do not think it was kheer actuually! Drinks– well okish for a restaurant i still find a glass of coke more than £1.50 expensive. I found this place overated, expensive and overpriced. Watch out of the extra 10% added on the bill without consent. Basically i find this place robs you if they think you do not know anything about ‘buffet’ expectations. Also Tables are tiny like your having a coffee or something not a proper meal.(the 2 seater’s). Surroundings are ok but it can get really busy. Would i go back again-NEVER, expensive, cold food(chicken tikka, chips, spring rolls chicken wings and some of the indian currys v. oily,) — and you can find better buffet restaurants.(you have to travel a bit from woking though)

I have been to the Lotus lounge a few times usually following a meal at Charlie Choys upstairs. I’ll start with Charlie Choys: Chinese /Thai buffet. While the food is edible, I found it lacked flavour, except for maybe a couple of dishes. There was also an abundance of oil in some dishes, which was a definite turn off. Seeing Pizza and chips available sort of summed it up really, but I guess they need to cater for the demographic where not everyone may be an Asian food fan. Moving on to the Lotus lounge downstairs… what can I say, good Mojitos, generous servings, nice ambience, and also the reason for two of the stars on this review. To get this right, go to Barcelona down the road, then come here for drinks. Recommend booking if you’re headed to Barcelona — I’ve been turned away a couple of times due to lack of booking. Yes, turned away in Woking! It is THAT popular.

Charlie Choy’s is a good place for a fun meal out. It’s basically an Asian all-you-can-eat buffet, with a fixed price per head(and a discount for children under 10). Lunch is very cheap at only £6.95/head Sunday-Thursday and £9.95/head Friday and Saturday, while dinner is £12.95 and £14.95 respectively. There are usually about 15 different Indian, Chinese, and Thai dishes to choose from, as well some token pizza and pasta options for picky children. The main attraction is the open kitchen area in the middle, where you can pile up a bowl with noodles, and your choice of raw meat and veg, and watch a chef wok-fry it in front of you. They also make excellent naans to order in the same area. Alas, the desserts are not very good, and, moreover, disappointingly inauthentic; serving yourself fruit jelly and baked cheesecake doesn’t quite feel appropriate after chicken in black bean sauce, and even the fruit salad consists mostly of apples, oranges and grapes rather than a more convincing selection. Also the chocolatey things tend to run out as soon as they arrive, so you may have to hover to get what you want. For the price, it’s a pretty good deal, although beware of the 10% service charge, which will be added whether you like it or not. Drinks are charged separately but are reasonably priced. There is a lovely bar downstairs that you can retire to after your meal if you fancy a bit of peace and quiet, as, being rather family-friendly, the main restaurant is quite bright and noisy and isn’t the best place for a romantic evening out.

I love this restuarant. Situated next to Victoria Arch it is well placed, close to town car parks, the station, cinema and theatre. The outside forecourt has a very pleasant seating area for you to bring your drinks out from the Lotus Bar which on the ground level of Charlie Choy’s. The Lotus Bar serves all the normal drinks and cocktails too and the indoor seating area is open plan, with comfortable seats. There is a large screen TV which is often on but with no sound as they usually have music playing. The Lotus Bar is worth a visit on it’s own if you are not intending to eat. There are toilets on this level. Now for the upstairs! Travel up the stairs and you will be greeted by a large open plan restaurant with a large kitchen buffet area sited almost centrally in the room and a bar to your right. From here you will be guided to your seats all of which are comfortable. Here comes the fun bit, take a plate and walk around the buffet area. There is a wide variety of foods; starters, mains and deserts. Four types of cuisine are served and some of it cooked fresh to order right in front of you; Indian, Thai, Chinese and European, there are even fries and pizza for the less adventurous. Just take your pick, eat whatever you fancy it is all delicious. Go back as many times as you like all they ask is that you eat what you take(but I must say that I have left something that didn’t suit my tastebuds and when they collected my plate they just asked if I hadn’t enjoyed that dish and apologised that it wasn’t to my taste!). The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are friendly and helpful, I have no wish to go anywhere else to eat at the present moment in time and I am so looking forward to my next visit which I am putting a little away for each week. This is not an expensive place to eat, it is extremely reasonably priced but with six of us to feed, in these times, it adds up. My whole family feel very comfortable here and they have thoroughly enjoyed their visits. Any age is welcome and well catered for; a real family restaurant, casual and relaxed. Totally five stars.
