I’ve been to the Tamarind Tree several times, and it has been excellent every time. Very fresh food, and friendly service. Each time, vs ordering off the menu, we’ve asked the waiters to bring a mix of dishes, and each time, they crushed it. Very lively atmosphere for a small-ish place. Highly recommended if you like fairly authentic Indian food.

I go here quite often. Food always superb. Nice buffet suitable for children on sundays. My children love the poppadums and sweet dips Highly recommended

Great indian restaurant. Open all sunday afternoon, with a buffet, although I went a la carte with a jalfrezi. Great fresh sauce with just the right amount of fresh chili. The pickles with the popadams were fresh as another reviewer noted. Devote its clean and fresh. I’d be happy to bring a date here or have a business dinner. Highly recommend.

i have been here so many times! absolutley goregous! they certainly know how to cook indian dishes! I eat out quite alot after experiencing this resturant i wouldnt go anywhere else. 1 bad point to this resturant is that its to small! they need to expand the resturant! lovely people that work there!

The Tamarind Tree was my favourite Indian restaurant in Wokingham. I remember well visiting on the 2nd or 3rd night it opened — we were greeted by the main man who took the time out to talk to us, giving us both a warm welcome. The food that night didn’t strike me as brilliant — just good. The pickles are always fresh(a pet hate I have with many Indian restaurants are stale pickles). The atmosphere buzzes & the place is nearly always full so book. Well worth a visit — I particularly like the fish dish selection & the deep white monogrammed square plates. Don’t be surprised to see the proprietor getting hugged by the more chavvy regulars — usually by the men(an observation rather than a sexist comment!) I went back around Dec 2010& was not that impressed. The food just didn’t live up to the cost & wasn’t particularly busy either. To be fair, a great many restaurants have slipped in this prelonged recession.
