Waitrose

I have regularly used this store since I moved to the area about 6 months ago. I use it for both instore purchases and deliveries, and I have been very pleased on all accounts. The service is very good, the quality of the products is very good, and if there is ever a problem, one quick call and the issue is quickly and politely resolved. What more can you ask for?
I’ve never had a problem with parking at the store; however, they also offer a service where you can rent a trolley type thing that attaches to your bicycle if you want to peddle to the store like I have in the warmer months.
I was getting a deliver of veg from another company, but they would leave the boxes on the exposed front steps and I would end up with scorched or mouldy veg. It was horrible and the customer service was even worse. With Waitrose, they always deliver during my chosen time slot, they carry the bags into my kitchen and wait for me to hand them back the bags from previous deliveries – or you can return them to the store where they are recycled, and Waitrose has better delivery options – before and after working hours as well as weekends.
Overall, I’m very pleased with Waitrose and I would highly recommend the delivery service and this branch to others.

Updating my review. Service got a bit better after I posted my last review but that might also be because I started deliberately paying in cash to avoid the battle at the cash register over my «suspicious» debit card that just happened to have my picture on the front.
Lots of items here that I wish were available in the US. The whole Heston Blumenthal range was really interesting. I especially enjoyed the curried popcorn and the prawn cocktail with a hint of vodka in the sauce (too much mayo though). The bakery had these awesome rose geranium/​cherry flavored cupcakes. We frequently purchased a Waitrose brand treacle tart with some clotted cream to go with. The Rachels organic yogurt in Ginger was amazing. And don’t get me started on the premade Indian food. To be honest, we went to 2 indian restaurants in Wokingham and the ready made meals at Waitrose tasted more like authentic Indian food than either of the restaurants we tried.
You can also go and have tea or cakes in the area next to the bakery. Lots of stay at home mums with squirmy children but the cream tea was nice and under 4 pounds.

Great chain of supermarkets on the higher end side of pricing. They have a nice selection of individually wrapped & prepared foods ready to cook along with small bottles of wine. I wish the US would have more stores that sell less quantity like this, but the cost savings would likely be lost with the extra packaging required.
the staff is a great younger looking group of guys and gals that were very helpful and nice.

Waitrose is a really nice place to shop and the wokingham store is quite large, there is a huge selection of fresh food and meat so its always nice to go to to get some nice treats. The food is more expensive than somewhere like tesco but the value is much better.

Pros This Waitrose is located near Waitrose town centre, and is a fairly large store. The store is clean and well decorated, and has a large (if slightly confusingly laid out) car park. The store stocks a wide range of products and has a good range of specialty ‘shops’- baker, deli and butcher– on site. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and are always happy to help if asked where to locate an item, or how to cook a product– which I found very helpful when trying to figure out what to do for a dinner party!
Cons The items available at Waitrose are more expensive than comparable items at other supermarkets, but you are paying for perceived extra quality and value, as well as the improved customer service available in the store.
