Sept 2009. We’ve been for Sunday lunch and it was good: fresh food, well prepared at an acceptable price. General ambience and cleanliness is very good but loud operatic music needs to be re-thought. I only hate rap music more. Service was good but it took ages for our order to be taken despite the restaurant being quiet. Replace the half slice of strange tasting toast served up with starters for something different and I would have rated the Sunday lunch as VERY good. Unusual sweets but worth trying. The rest of the menu looks promising and it should be worth visiting for an evening meal. Wolverhampton isn’t blessed with many good places to eat so this is worth a visit. It’s maybe just over a mile from the«city» centre. The new establishment, named Alex’s Restaurant, is at Compton and is NOT The Fox at Shipley. This review has been moved from its previous position on the Fox page.

If you like mediterranean food then this is a place for you. Confession I have not eaten here yet but fully intend to based on what many others have told me. Alex opened this after successfully running the restaurant at The Fox at Shipley for some time. His fans & customers seem to have followed and grown. I drive past often and noticed a sign for 2 course meals for £9.99 last week. A friend went last week and said how wonderful the food was. UPDATE June 2012 local paper reports that this place has now closed.
