Love the food here Great for grabbing lunch at work and they deliver around town. Had a yummy jacket spud with tuna & side salad.

A very nice little place on Darlington Street that I’ve been visiting for a couple of years. The food is undoubtedly amongst the best in Wolverhampton and the place is often full, even on wet Tuesday lunchtimes! Awarded 3 stars by Wolves Council for hygiene so you can have confidence in their standards. The only reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 is that the prices have gone up rather a lot over the last year which is probably a reflection of their popularity but a little irksome. Nonetheless, I’d recommend a visit to anybody.

Last night was our first visit to Café Maxsim, and it will not be our last. I don’t often feel inspired enough to write a review, but our dining experience last night was so wonderful, I had to get it down. Firstly, as I’ve been a fan on the Café Maxsim page on Facebook for a few months now, I have had some excellent communication with the owners and was even given the opportunity to suggest a few ‘special offers’ that they might introduce. £19.99 for 5 dishes for 2 people, is a bargain! And when you take in a bottle of wine, the bargain gets even sweeter. We were warmly greeted at the door by the owner and given a choice of two small, yet intimate tables. We chose the closest to the window. We were given our menu’s and asked if we’d like water. And after 5 minutes, the lady returned with iced water and took our order; Greek Salad(genuinely Greek, really good feta), Olive and Rosemary Focaccia Bread(soft and very scrummy), Quesidilla wedges(cheesey melty goodness!), Seafood Saganaki(my fave dish of the night, calamari was delish, and the muscles were cooked to perfection), Polpette Senze Carne(mini mozzarella and parmesan fritters, my boyf’s fave!). We were brought each dish slowly, and given plenty of time to eat each dish just like they do in the Med! It was brilliant! The food was perfect! Cooked in some wonderful flavours and to perfection… better than most Tapas I’ve eaten abroad! Very high compliments to the Chef! We ended our night with the traditional Tirimasu… and again, perfect! Stoked in alcohol, creamy and very moreish! I would recommend this café/restaurant to couples or to anyone craving the Med food! Well done Café Maxsim!

Comfortable seats and an interesting range of very fresh sandwiches. Slightly out of the town centre, but easy to get to. Friendly staff, and a very clean place.

Really sweet little resturant and great place to get lunch with friends. The tapas is good but I have to say I prefered it when they first opened. They seem to have built a really huge menu which I get a bit lost in and while I used to get a a few tapas dishes and share them the portions and the prices have gone up so this no longer seems a good idea. The staff are really friendly and I would still visit occasionally but its not the great experience it once was.

Love this place! Was a regular when it first opened(even got free cake to test the recipe!) and glad to see it doing well. Usually full on Fridays and Saturdays(not hard since there’s room for around 25 people max inside) so book if you want to go! Food is lovely, tapas style, a mix of italian, spanish and turkish. Prices have gone up since it opened but it is still very reasonable indeed. Perhaps best of all it’s bring your own bottle in the evenings, keeping the cost down even more! A really great place to enjoy a cosy meal with friends.
