What a superb eating house! I’d been afraid that on a Saturday nighttime it may be jampacked and therefore less than comfortable, yet it wasn’t when I paid a visit, and so I had the enjoyment of being allowed to take a look around personally and talk normally with my visitors. The wine menu was intriquing, notable and the bar people incredibly educated and polite. I can’t wait to get back there and taste more food or conduct a wine sampling.

A proper pub. Three separate rooms of which one contains the bar. Three usually recognisable guest ales and two Banks’s beers. The landlord and the regulars are happy to chat to you in here. Situated on the west side of town in Chapel Ash its about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the town centre.

This is a really good pub for students, families or couples. There is live music some Saturday nights which livens up the atmosphere somewhat. There is a large range of beers and ales on offer and they are all really reasonably priced. The interior could do with a refurbishment, but is very homely and welcoming, along with warm and friendly staff who are very good at their jobs. The service is always good except when the pub is really crowded and service can definitely wane. The garden is really good in the Summer.

friendly local pub just off ring road serves great beer with(I’m led to believe, anyway!!) a tree protruding from the gents toilet(tree is protected) .this pub used to be a house & is still using the original layout as defining the various the garden out back is covered seating area where bands play on a regular basis. can get very crowded especially on match days

Good local boozer. In the Good Beer Guide and not just because its the only pub with a full size tree growing in the gents toilet!(SEEPHOTO) Busy pub serving Bank’s beers plus 2⁄3 guest ales. Looks small from outside but extends back with a beer garden too. Live music at the back. Well worth a visit.
