Toilets are a disgrace, your feet stick to the floor and the draught beer is terrible.
Somehow though, this place actually has a bit of character to it and if you’re drunk enough, if you’re really drunk enough, it can be good fun as a last port of call.

Havent been here for years, as I’ve been living in Gateshead. Had a lot of good nights down here. Didn’t like it when the DJ’s would play pop music and dance music though. Keep that crap out like they do up here in Geordieland. I remember Saffron, the singer of Republica did a DJ set one Saturday night in 1999, and she blew the resident DJ away. She actually played alternative and rock stuff. Most of the younger crowd dispappeared down to the lower room. One of my mates, who was a doorman there, and an ex-​Punk like me, cruelly summed it up. «At the end of the day, whatever they may call themselves, however they may dress, or have their hair, they’re not into alternative music, they’re into pop music.»
Had a brilliant Hallowe’en night there on Saturday in the 90s. Lotsa ppl in fancy dress, goth girls wearing white as opposed to their usual black attire.
Rarely any bother there, apart from when two daft girls accused each other of bumping into each other on the mosh pit. It’s a rock club, FFS, metal, punk, goth, grunge, etc not dance-​round-​yer-​handbag!

Its an ok venue, but if there was any real competition in wolves for the rock crowd, it would suffer a heavy loss. Having said that, the doorstaff, bar staff and management are all friendly and nice people. The availability of the drinks promotions (the cup) only seem to apply to friends of whoever is on the front desk at the time.

Fun club to go to, place is a bit of a dive though. Don’t expect to be able to use the toilets if you need to sit down…

I was there every thursday night for the open bar. It is really good to get drunk for cheap. It is really not my kind of music but this place is really funny especially the room upstairs.^^

Planet is a dive, but thats what makes it so good. Sometimes you can get in for something like £8 and have refills all night. Music is really good in both rooms and its a place where the people want to enjoy themselves. If you dont care about trendy places and like good music this is one of the places to go in wolverhampton, just dont hang around outside for too long afterwards!

good for the last place as its usually the only one open, some nights 10 pound for a refillable drink allnight (larger). two floor of rock music one with cage. toilets are not a place to go to ever. three bars so not much waiting time. good for a dance late at night

Not the best place in the world to hang out, but its ok if you like rock music, albeit usually metal or emo, and can take about a week to get served at the bar, apart from that its an ok occasional place to hang out

I was already a bit drunk by the time me and my friends got to The Planet. There was quite a que to get in (when I say quite I que what I mean is I had to wait about 5 mins to get in, nothing bad. I just hate waiting!!) When you pay to get in you have a choice —
pay £1.00 to get in and then pay for your drinks as normal.
pay £11.00 to get in but you basically get every drink free!
What with me being a greedy student I opted for the £11.00 deal (which my friends somehow didnt know about even though they had all been before and I hadnt!)
The free drinks thing was great although I wish I’d drank less in the previous bar and saved up all my drinking power for here so it made it better value :)
It was still amazing value. I was ordering drinks I’d never tried before and I didnt care if I decided I didnt like it because then I could give it to one of my friends (who thought I was being generous and nice) and then get myself another drinkand if I did like it — bonus!
The whole place was quite dark. Downstairs they played good music so my whole group just piled onto the dance floor so thats there a stayed the whole night. I did venture upstairs 2ce for a look around. The first time I made it to the top of the stairs, thats where I came face to face with some munted girls dancing in a cage?!? what the hell?!? either way, I decided to just go back to the downstairs dance floor.
The second time I went to go upstairs I made it past the cage and onto the dance floor. They play way heavier rock music — so if you fancy a bit of a mosh then perfectbut wearing heels? go downstairs!
The toilets were rank. So although I dont actually remember I thinks its pretty safe to say (because toilets are a great measure of cleanliness) that this place is pretty dirty. But fun non the less.
