Been a long time since I been here, but I write what I think. We really enjoyed this bar whilst I was on my first year, it seems a really friendly place, very student friendly, the downturn is it can get rammed sometimes. I think on thursday nights, bands play upstairs but I yet to go to this yet, maybe at some point I will. The drinks are cheaper if you get v-​card depending on what you drink :)

Is there anything people would like to see happen on a thursday night upstairs at the varsity on a monthly/​regular basis?
The bar has new staff and the kitchen has re-​opened with amazing food and reasonable priced drinks and are made cheap if you buy the V-​card!

A very disappointing nosedive for The Varsity.
Awarded no stars by Wolves Councils Scores on the doors, reflected by the kitchen being closed down.
Lethargic staff are in no hurry to serve, door staff are amongst the worst I’ve encountered and during busy times the place becomes a right state.
Still pulling in punters with cheap drinks offers but this pub feels as though it’s had it’s day.

We have eaten here untill the kitchen closed because of rodent problems.
Once dirty kitchen always dirty kitchen so avoid.
Stick to cheap £ pints but carling is weird
V card is a good bet for cheap drinks

The Varsity is cheap, especially with a V-​Card on a Thursday night (so called ‘student night’, but it seems like student night every night!) and the kind of people you get are pretty calm and just up for a good time. Most of my friends use it as a first port of call before progressing onto the likes of Oceana or the Civic. There is nothing in the Varsity that makes it ‘fun’ except for your company, so don’t expect any frills, just take a good bunch o’ mates, find a table and GET THE DRINKS IN!!!

j’étais en angleterre a wolverhampton un an et c’était un endroit ou j’allais souvent. Vous pouvez déjeuner la bas pour pas cher, participer aux soirées blind test ou bien savourer les happy hours le mardi soir. pour un pound vous aurrez la possibilité de choisir entre la bière, le cidre, les bébés wisky et vodka bref le mardi c’est jour de beuverie et l’ambiance est jeune, sympa, je vous le conseil

Varsity is a hugely popular Wolverhampton pub/​bar, located in the city centre, near the bus and train stations. It has a friendly atmosphere and nice staff. Standard pub menu during the day (burgers, wraps, chip bowls, etc). Buying a V Card for £2 entitles you to a considerable saving on most drinks. Fairly busy most nights, particularly Thursday. After 7pm you need to pay £1 entry on Thursday, but after that most drinks only cost £1. Be warned, it gets very busy and the queues for the bar are terrible. Overall, one of the best pubs for a young clientele in the town.

Tursday is the only night worth going here when drinks are £1 all night. It gets incredibly busy then and it’s difficult to get to the bar. You have to pay entry and receive a varsity card for this. This gets you a discount on drinks everyday. However, without the card drinks are very expensive. There are better pubs to go to for cheap drinks, Thursday being the only exception.

This is just an OK pub, the drinks are priced accordingly, however, there is very little room inside and unless you are a student the pub offers you nothing of interest. I don’t find it an easy pub to sit in, can get very crowded and not the type of pub you can easily relax in. The customers are all with in the 18 — 30 age range and are 90% students. Many students can sit in the pub all afternoon however, many will simply pop in on the weekdays lunch hour. Students are the main customers for this pub, it’s not a family pub and I would not suggest coming here if you want something to eat!

Absolutely great on a student night drinks are only £1 so always the first stop and again if your running low on money, can be a bit croweded after 9pm but thats just because of the cheap drinks, music’s good, you just need to be quick for the seats.

Good place for students, for me it is student central by the uni and in town. Its not the best place in terms of customer service. Always ask for ID which i think is good and are following a good practice. This is a place to go to before going out to oceana etc and in the day has nice hot food.
Have to pay to get in at night but you can become a memeber and pay less with the card.

This is a cool place not far from the bus station in Wolverhampton. Pleasant and fun, reasonably priced. It does get very busy over the weekends especially in the evenings.

This is the first bar I went to on my last night out in Wolverhampton. Everybody I was with kept going on about how cheap and amazing it is.
Had to pay a few quid to get in. The drinks were reasonably priced but not as cheap as everybody had made out.
It was really busy and there was always quite a wait at the bar for drinks (so buy 2 at once!)
I dont have much to say about this place. It was okay — I cant think of anything bad to say but in the same way I cant think of anything good to say either!
If I went out in Wolverhampton again and ended up there again I wouldnt complain but I’m sure there has to be places with a bit more character.
