Chesters

Had a great experience at Chesters a few months ago for my partners birthday. They were really helpful when I went to see them prior to the day of our booking to organise arrangements for the cake etc. This is the first time I’d been there, and I’ve been back since. Great quality food, and a great price too!

A poor excuse for a Mexican/​med restaurant. I had a ‘burrito’ which was the worst I have had it was more of a bean wrap. It was sloppy and didn’t have the usual burrito ingredients. It lacked flavour and had no option to add hot sauce.
The restaurant is expensive costing around £13 for a burrito where I can get the real one for half the price double the taste in a burrito restaurant

Absolutely fantastic food, excellent atmosphere and friendly staff. I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent gluten free options.

Brilliant place. Good service, AMAZING food (Me and my girlfriend often have the fillet steak during lunchtime menu prices brilliant value!) and of the numerous times we’ve been there we’ve never had a bad meal the steaks that we get are always cooked to perfection and the portions are absoultely huge :)

Can’t fault Chesters — eaten there about 10 times now and the food is always great and the service is friendly and efficient. If you are a vegetarian or vegan Chester’s is an absolute must — there are plenty of meat/​fish choices however the range of veggie/​vegan dishes is the best I have ever seen.

Both my wife and myself enjoy eating here, they serve great food and have a wide range of options for vegetarians and vegans (my wife is vegan).
Service can be a little slow when they’re busy or dealing with parties, but the food is definitely well worth waiting for.
It’s worth noting the vegan selection isn’t as great on the lunchtime menu.
Nearest parking is St. Martin’s Gate car park and walk over the footbridge straight into New Street.

Dined here last night with friends. Being from a larger city with a much more varied choice of restaurants it was a pleasant surprise to find this place (on my local friends recommendation). The food was served quickly, though we were never made to feel hurried. The meals were all delicious and the portions more than generous. Staff were helpful and attentive (and good humoured too given our rather «refreshed» state). The food was well presented. The décor could do with a refresh, and they need to keep a better stock of beer (they didn’t have 3 of the beers we requested from the menu). I’d heartily recommend here for a Friday night eat out with friends, but maybe not for a special occasion.

Arrived 10 p.m. on a Friday night. Food was good and served without undue delay. Staff were attentive and good humoured, although it took some time to get the bill. Its wasn’t the finest mexican i’ve ever eaten but was perfectly pleasant.

I went to Chesters a while ago, and I won’t be going back. It’s not because the food was bad (it was fine), but it’s because of the service I recieved, or lack of it. Throughout the evening I had three different waiting staff, none of whom seemed to give a monkeys about the customers, but were more interested in chatting to each other about what they were going to do after work. I waited an hour and a half for my main course to be served, and was never even asked if I wanted a desert. When it came time to leave the 3^rd waitress seem suprised when I didn’t offer her a tip, with hind sight I should have said, Here’s a tip for you. Give your customers decent service and you might be suprised how many more tips you get.
