We were surprised to find that this place has undergone another makeover, much for the better. Very chic décor and a new vibe to the place.
A great range of new world ales on tap and a very exciting cocktail list all priced at £5.99 which I think is very reasonable these days.
Not eaten there yet but will definitely be trying the menu soon…
Great outdoor space too!

Not being a huge pub person myself I was always going to be slightly biased however I’ve been to the John Gilbert 4 times in my life all my forced purposes for other people’s choice. My most recent visit was for a parents birthday he being a fan of the place I went along. The food isn’t bad if a little bland if I’m honest and doesn’t taste to healthy wether that’s way it’s cooked or the ingredients used I don’t know. The waiting staff are nice enough as are the bartenders if a little aloof. It’s cheap enough as most pub grub is but again wouldn’t come here by choice others may enjoy though.
