My colleagues and I used to go here every Friday for lunch. It was never mind-blowing, but we were in, fed and out within the hour. We were delighted to hear that it was being refurbished, but it’s been a disaster. The place may look nicer, but the service is terrible. You have to be seated, but there’s no-one to greet you. You have to order everything from your waitress, when she has the time to look after you. As a result we were well over our hour, and the food wasn’t at all good. Our drinks arrived after our food, despite us asking repeatedly for them. All this place needed was a refurb — it worked well as it was with the ‘order at the bar’ process. As a result we haven’t been back after that first visit, and now go to the Acton instead, where the food is good and the staff very nice. It’s further away, but we’d rather not give the Plas Coch our business any more.

Just come back from a dissapointing meal and service . Firstly I had the fish and chips with tartar sauce which I have had there before and enjoyed. the batter was rock hard and ladened with grease the chips looked were out of an economy bag of frozen chips hard and small … after I sent the meal back as it was unsatisfactory A women approached our table of 6 and seemed annoyed that I had dared return a dish she said she had looked at the dish and it was fine … No apology just defensive .I had the cajun chicken instead which was equally as dissapointing another economy looking chicken grill style thing… There was a reason only a dozen people were there on a saturday night… there are plenty of other good places to eat in Wrexham which I shall be doing in future. This place is cheerful but I wouldn’t say it was that cheap. The menu is pretty extensive but looking at what comes out of the kitchen I have never thought to treat myself to a meal there. They do have some drink promotions which can make drinking there a bit cheaper but considering the biggest rival to the Plas Coch is the the students union at NEWI you’d think they would try to make their prices more competative. Despite this less than glowing review, I have actually spent a fair bit of time at the plas coch, mainly because of their regular quiz nights. I seems to be more of a test of who can access the internet quickest on their mobile rather than a test of general knowlege but it is never the less a good way to spend a Thursday or Wednesday evening.

Cheap and cheerful. The food is o.k. great value for money and not bad at all really. Again it is typical pub grub. They often have fun days in the summer months and have a small fair their for the children. I have always had good service at this pub.

Great for drinks and quizes but not fantastic for food despite it being very good value for money. It has a vast pub menu with very cheap dishes and various deals where you get a drink with yor meal. Curry club nights are not bad. Very good value. Dont go here if you want good food though, you will be disapointed.
