Stumbled upon this place whilst having an extravagant day of shopping(and my new converse had given me a blister :-(() Ventured in at the sight of their lovely cakes on display. We were seated by a waitress in a squashed corner in chairs that were a bit low for the table(which was fixed down so it couldn’t be moved!) Service is via placing the order at the counter and they bring the drinks followed by any food orders a short while after. While waiting for our cake I took in the surroundings which is an odd mix of an aged building with modern ‘cow’ pictures on each wall. I had to use the toilets which are up rickety old stairs(on a slant) and the uneven floor made me feel a bit queasy! We had a latte and a pot of T, a piece of lemon drizzle cake and sticky toffee sponge. The lemon drizzle cake came with a tart sorbet accompaniment and was excellent The sticky toffee cake came with a cream and toffee sauce accompaniment and was also excellent– cake heaven on both counts. Even though this would not have been our first choice of places to stop for a brief refreshment I definitely think its a place worth going. The cakes are to die for!!!
