Incredible alcohol shop, stocking every type of beer or spirits you could want.
Just trying all the ales would take you months, never mind the fruit beers, stouts and porters… as a porter lover who finds it difficult to find a shop that even stocks 1 type, this was a blessing.
A must visit if you even vaguely like beer.

An excellent specialist beer shop which also covers all sorts of other spirits, but doesn’t bother with wine. There’s a small bar upstairs which is difficult to find a spare seat in.
The beer section is organised by style and by country of origin, with all the beers you’d hope to see there and a few surprises. They seem to run out of stock of certain beers quicker than you’d expect but there’s always something new to try instead. Friendly service, and highly recommended.

Thank goodness I found this place when I did! I managed to pick up a fair few christmas gifts from here.
A lot of the men I buy for are the type of people who have what they need, so gifts need to be thought out well — and what better than beer? but I want it to be something a bit special and that’s where the bottle came in handy.
My other half has spent I a long time working in Europe, and has tried lots of beers that just aren’t widely available here.
I managed to find a lot of his favourites, such as leffe, (all the different strengths and colours), Orval and duvel. Not only do they supply the beers they also sell the correct glasses to drink it out of. (apparently, you need a different shaped glass for different types of beer to appreciate the full flavor). ((think I’ll stick to chocolate))

has a really good selection of ales including some with rather gimmicky names, the type you buy for xmas and birthdays!
its the only store in york that has a very good selection of absinth! and some at 80% proof! the spirit section is downstairs!
in the chilled drinks section, in the back they have PUSSY energy drink! i always get a can for the man, as i find the name so funny! meads and tonic wines etc along with bar equipment, like drink mats, bar mats, optics etc
its not cheap, but where in york centre is? but its not overly expensive! well worth a look in when passing, and they will deliver orders over £30.00 for free within 5 miles!
