Évaluation du lieu : 4 Bedok North, Singapore, Singapore
Nene Chicken seems to be franchising a lot in eastern Singapore. 75% of their outlets are located in the east. My colleague who’s a fan of it also mentioned that they are allegedly the No. 1 chicken franchise in Korea, its founding country. *shrugs* I always felt that the outlet here is quite cram, but my colleague argued that this one is even bigger than all the other Nene Chicken outlets she had visited. I can only wonder how small the others are. The only other outlet I’ve ever been to was the one at Scape; and I guess due to the outdoor location, I felt it was big. Anyhows, making the order can be quite confusing if it’s your first time, since their menu is not exactly itemized. So each customer will usually spend some time at the counter, busying the serving staff with questions. This is also the first ever eatery I’ve dined in whereby they provide plastic hand-gloves for you to eat your food. The first time I did, my first remark was, «What?! Are you kidding me?» But it’s only after you look around and start digging into your food that you will begin to appreciate them. Everybody is using them. Eating the chickens will be a one messy feat. Just be careful not to bite and chew the plastic instead. If you think you’re up for the ‘Freaking Hot’ set, brace your tongue. It’s gonna burn! Really burn. I’ve also tried the ‘Snowing Cheese’ set, but with the tenders version. Nice. Always been a cheese lover. However today, we got the classic hot chickens along with another set of ‘Swicy’ chickens. Sweet + Spicy = Swicy! Topped with roasted sesame seeds, with really lovely sauce… I loved them! And oh! You have to try the fries. If you love McDonald’s Twister Fries, you’ll like these too. Sure they’re not curly, but taste almost the same; at least to my tastebuds.
