I am a former gamer and the first thing I thought when I saw this place was, seriously??? Alcohol and e-sports, wow! Then it just hit me, was the name«Brewlings» influenced by the famous Zerg units in Starcraft, Zerglings or Banelings. Yes — you are reading a review of a former nerd. But to my disappointment, I didn’t see one sign of Starcraft anywhere. WTH! I guess, DOTA is much more popular here. :D Anyways, I would imagine Brewlings would be simply heaven for gamers/Nerds who don’t want to just hangout at LAN Gaming stations/cafes. I’m sure it’s hard to meet or talk to fellow gamers when you are just fixated on your computer screen, anyways. Sorry, chatrooms don’t work… :P If I were a true gamer, I would suggest one of the following things to improve the bar:(i) add a little music or, simply, show a live or old gamecast of DOTA match being screened on the bar walls and tvs behind the bar– the experience is a bit boring when you are just watching a Russian DOTA match and have no idea what is going on,(ii) add Starcraft something in the bar, please,(iii) make it more clear how much it would cost to play one of the four game consoles available in the club — the street figher and fifa game is a nice touch! Would I come back, probably not. However, if you are a current gamer or former gamer wanting to live out one’s fantasy of being an adolescent kid(let’s face it we all played these games when were in school) and having alcohol at the same time — then yeah, by all means visit this place!

What a super random find! Our group of 12 looked at Unilocal and found this little place just around the corner. It seemed to fit the bill as a place to buy a cold beer and continue our stories of the night in comfortable a/c, so off we went. Little did we know it was gamer themed. I am not a gamer, but I like that there is a place offering something for what I can only imagine is a niche market. TVs and projectors show random people online playing multi-player, role-playing games instead f the usual sports which is a nice change. I am not sure if I would really come here again, however I now know of a place which is good for a chat, reasonably priced and ideal for a game of pool after a dinner at Chomp Chomp. Great concept which I hope does really well for the gamers here in Singapore.

I’m not a gamer at all, but I found this bar refreshing. In an island full of speakeasies, hipster spaces, and cookie cutter pubs, Brewlings offers an environment for the cool gamers. Instead of TVs that show the latest football game, patrons get to watch random users from Russia play Dota 2, live. You can also play Street Fighter or FIFA, if you’d like. If you’re not into RPG games and would rather do something offline with your buddies, they’ve got a pool table and a beer pong table. Beer offerings were typical; our group of 12 settled for a tower of Kronenbourg 1664. Add in their strong AC and it was a welcome respite from the smokiness and heat of Chomp Chomp. 3 stars, but +1 for the gamer angle!
