Kenny Rogers Roasters

Admittedly, I do not know a lot of Kenny Rogers songs. In fact, I always mistaken him for Kenny Loggins. I guess the only song of his I’m familiar with is «Islands In The Stream», and I would gladly duet and sing Dolly Parton’s part with you if you ask me to!
But I digress! It was only until I moved to Asia that I realised Kenny Rogers was a chicken roaster as well. As I was looking for a slightly healthier lunch in Parkway Parade, I decided to stop by.
They have some really affordable lunch specials here, and they definitely sound a bit healthier as it’s mostly roasted chicken. They also have very American side dishes like corn bread to choose from, so it’s perfect for when I’m a bit homesick.
I ordered the chicken Caesar salad lunch set, which comes with your choice of side, a drink, and some corn bread. The salad was a pretty good portion, not too heavy but not too light either, and the dressing comes on the side. As much as I love mac and cheese, this one had too much sauce and the pasta was a bit over done. But hey, it’s just a side.
Overall, this is an a-​ok establishment, and good if you’re looking for a taste of ‘Murica!

I haven’t been here in ages… like 3 years?
the last I remembered, I was eating a bowl of their mac and cheese and feeling guilty after I downed it.
Alas, they’ve lost that country feel though.
Just a regular diner like Aston’s.
Portions have gone smaller. Either that or my stomach is doing quite well!
The chicken isn’t as tender as I remember it to me. Arrived with a lukewarm personality.
The side dishes were my mains. .
BBQ beans were tangy as ever. Love the extra oomph… the slaw wasn’t as creamy, so I’m pretty happy minusing any extra calories that might have come with extra cream.
And prices have gone up slightly. Bummer, I know.
But their saving grace?
Their corn muffins.
Still good as ever. I recommend dipping it in whatever sauce you have and eat with the chicken. Oh my Glob.
The restaurant is next to a Starbucks though… I was pretty tempted to ordering a cup of coffee and eat it with my awesome muffin.
Verdict: I shall download the Kenny rogers Spotify list now
