While most places at hawker centers focus on local or Asian food, Sebastian has a more unique approach with fusion. Given the owner’s background of cooking at quite a few restaurants, you will find some surprises on the menu. My favorite was a pasta carbonara dish. Seriously. For a little over $ 6, you get a very good version of the dish with homemade sauce, lots of real bacon, and pasta that is cooked very close to al dente. Something I could eat day after day. Their famous dish, however, is the chicken cheese katsu, which was ok, but combining cheese with katsu and serving it with Japanese curry sauce tastes like, well, what you would expect it to, which is just ok. Taste wise, the chicken teriyaki was solid, and the wasabi mayo prawns were tasty as well. They also had a special which was sauteed mushrooms served over toasted baguette and smothered with cheese, which was the perfect appetizer. a lot of the food goes better with wine, so get it to go, and open up a bottle of vino for a bargain dinner!
