Let me start this review by saying that I’m a huge fan of dimsum and no matter how bad a piece of steamed or fried dumpling is, it would still find its way to my mouth. Dubbel dubbel is a small but hip place near Möllan, the famous hangout square in Malmö. Unlike classic dimsum restaurants as I am used to in Copenhagen like Fu Hao or Royal Garden, this place pulls a modern twist on dimsum by making set menus and small dishes. Richard S and I ordered various dimsum including Fried Tofu wontons, fried crab wontons, kimchijiaozi, shrimp wontons, ginger fish(not dimsum) and tempe in sichuan sauce(not dimsum), The only item that I was disappointed was the crab wontons because it hardly tasted of anything, the fried tofu and the kimchijiaozi were by far the stars of the table that night. The only missing from the table was a good old chili sauce that we could eat buckets of in Fu Hao or Royal Garden. Then again, this is a hip dimsum place where Malmö hipsters or cool people chose to hangout maybe, nobody wants to get out of this place with bloated stomach from too many dimsum and too much chili and smell of fried dumplings like we did whenever we got out of Fu Hao or Royal Garden. It’s almost like comparing apples to oranges this way. They also have selection of «Asian-inspired» cocktails(my sake martini was rather disappointing tho) and Mikeller and To Øl beer and some other standard white, red, rose and bubbly wine. Why the three stars? Because it’s simply much more expensive that dining-til-your-stomach-burst ala Royal Garden. The bill came to 795 kr(for two people) for the items mentioned above, the black sesame ice cream for dessert, a To Øl beer, a sake martini, a plumwine cocktail and a plumwine liquor in the end. Then again, maybe it’s the alcohol that is pulling the bill down knowing how expensive it is on this side of the pond compared to good ol’ Copenhagen. My suggestion– have a dimsum here and drink somewhere else, maybe you will end up with smaller bill than we did and more satisfying drinks as well. All in all, it’s a hip place in Malmö and it’s alright, but if you’re into more serious dimsum consumption, by all means take the Øresund bridge and come to Copenhagen instead!

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Copenhagen, Denmark
This is a really nice place, works well for both dates, friends and meetings. Atmosphere is chill, seating is somewhat limited and there is really no option for standing even of the bar could accommodate. The food is good quality and the style is rare for this area. Prix fix menues(140−195pp) as well as smaller servings(35 – 95) Local beers, monthly special.
