3.5 stars. I had a good experience here but I wouldn’t go back to eat, though maybe would return for a drink. I stumbled upon this place with a friend and we sat on the terrace. The service was really good, and the servers were friendly, especially in relation to how busy they were. The portions were a surprise: it’s almost a tapas type of place as the portions are half or a third of a normal portion, and they recommend you take 3 dishes to form a meal — this gets pricey! I took 2 dishes, which was enough to leave room for dessert. One was the hake(fish), which was covered in too much pepper and was rather bland on the inside. The sauce and vegetables were good! The second dish was suckling pig, which was rather dry(overcooked?) but very tasty, especially as it’s covered in a thin layer of what I presume is bacon fat. The green beans were very crispy and the juice delicious. The inside is beautifully decorated and their bathroom is nice — good sign ;)

This used to be my favorite restaurant in Malmö when I lived there. Therefore the last visit calls for a longer review(you’ve been warned). This is what you usually get at a visit here: Excellent service– the waiters remember you, they remember allergies, they ask follow up questions since last time, they know everything about the menu and can recommend excellent wine choices for your choice of food, they will make sure your allergies are taken care of, they navigate you through the menu and advise you if you’re having doubts(as you can hear they’re awesome). The food set up is semi dishes, meaning size is in between starter and main. Usually I eat two courses and maybe a dessert. The menu varies from month to month but there are some classics that always stays on. The food is superb, well composed as well as great executed, small amount of carbs and instead focus on the good stuff and season vegetables. Often they serve meat from the Swedish forrest, good stuff from the sea and their vegetarian dish is something new every time– depending on what they have FRESH in the kitchen. They make excellent — I mean excellent cocktails. The interior is very cosy and so is the exterior during summer. Prices are totally fine but selected wine will bump up the bill. Therefore I was very disappointed when my latest visit was not so great. It was lunch and I ordered a fish but instead of potatoes I wanted a salad. They gave me just a green salad(which is fine but where’s the love?). My lunch companion was served the wrong dish. The food how ever was as delicious as always. I asked for water with ice, got cold water with no ice(which I had to pay a lot for just because it was cooled, I was told, even though it was tap water). We ordered coffee afterwards(refill included), got half a cup and then in 60 minutes they never came to ask if we wanted a refill. The service was poor and unlike what I described above– very uncommitted. So, I’m not sure as to do thumbs up or not. I think I’ll have to check it out again when in Sweden and in the meantime– you be the judge.

I had heard a lot of good things about Atmosfar before going there so I had rather high expectations. The restaurant has a classy feel to it and I can really recommend sitting in the sofas near the bar for a drink before sitting down at the table. The menu is based on mid-sized dishes — all 110SEK each(except for desserts which are cheaper). The set-up and presentation signals that the restaurant has pretty high ambitions so I expected the food to be something extra but in general I was disappointed. The duck I had was ok nothing more and the same was true of the beef. Atmosfar had also been mentioned as having a great selection of wine which in sense is true. They have a good selection if one wants to have a bottle of wine. The number of wines available by the glass was not great and the four that we had(two each recommended by the waiter as suitable for the food we were having) were at best decent and in some cases even bad. The service was however(disregarding the lack of knowledge on wine) great and we had a nice evening.

This place has great food! The service is smooth and knowledgeable. They have an excellent sommelier. Not a wide selection but every meal on the menu is carefully composed and executed. Complementary meals from the chef between courses. VERY pricey but worth the money.
