Gripsholms Värdshus

This is a prime location to eat overlooking the castle from across the water. So, warning: the prices reflect that! I don’t think the food was extraordinarily memorable, but pretty good! We didn’t stay at the hotel and just ate at the restaurant. The patio is fantastic to sit on during a sunny day! There was an annoying fly problem that kind of hampered the visit just a teeny tiny bit. From walking through the hotel lobby, you can see that this is a really historic little Inn. I would be curious to see the quality of the rooms. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you that. I can tell you that I think this place may be one of the oldest Inns in Sweden (if not THE oldest). I think a castle tour followed up by dinner on the patio here was perfect for a sunny summer day! I highly recommend this place for couples and families looking for a daytime or weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of Stockholm.

Eine Hammer-​Qualität für wenig Geld (Mittagessen). Frische Salate gibts vom Buffet, als Hauptspeise genossen wir Köttbullar mit Preiselbeeren und Kartoffelpüree und ein Fischgericht. Beides war geschmacklich und optisch von sensationeller Qualität. Alleine das Ambiente im Värdshus ist sehr sehenswert. Bei geeignetem Wetter kann auf der Terasse gespeist werden, mit direktem Blick auf das Schloß Gripsholm.
