It was great experience, the foods very delicious and the waiter so friendly. Me and my friends really enjoyed it.

Very well done Italian food in an elegant but quaint space. Service is wonderful and a good wine list. I think this place gets locals but it definitely worth a visit if you are visiting stockholm.

My significant other’s family was in town for a while and they decided to host a celebratory dinner night here. I’m so glad they did! The place was quaint and understated. The food was fresh and delicious! I didn’t have amazing expectations for myself at first because the menu seemed a little outside of my comfort zone. Also, a lot of the reviews for this place in english are over a year or two old. I’m usually not a big fan of most shellfish, veal, lamb or capers and at an Italian-​Swedish restaurant like this it seemed almost impossible to avoid (and a bit wasted on someone like me)! I did however find that the chicken pasta was delicious and creamy. The fried artichoke hearts were fresh and super tasty and the red wine the waitress selected for me was perfect! The others (there were about ten people in total with us) who had a more educated pallet in red meat and shellfish seemed to really enjoy the food as well. I was a vegan then a vegetarian for a while prior to moving to Sweden… so, i’m still adjusting to simpler meats like chicken, turkey and beef. ;) If your a picky eater my dish would have been perfect for you! My boyfriend highly recommended the lamb. The portion size for his dish was absolutely huge! Four stars, two thumbs up and a smile on my face for this cute little place! =)

The pasta dishes we had were very rich in flavor with creamy texture. They were insanely good. I was here a few months ago with my bf and really wish I could remember what we had. Sorry but I know we will be back for sure.
The atmosphere is relaxing, quiet and romantic. Servers are nice and attentive.
It is pretty pricey but the quality of food is worth it.

Maybe I’m old-​fashioned, but I love this place so much. The dishes are huge, mouth-​watering, and incredibly filling. The staff is always very friendly. For me it’s all about the risotto, which takes 40 minutes to prepare, but that’s no showstopper. The risotto is exactly what you want. Wait it out. You’ll need the extra hunger to finish it!

Humongous portions of decent pasta. Heavy on the cream and rough finish. Pleasant venue and good service, opt for this place if you’re really hungry!

Den Gamle Och Havet is one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of eating at in all my trips to Europe.
I’d never been to Stockholm and found it to be a really incredible city, but by far the highlight of my trip was when my co-​workers took me out to a fantastic Italian dinner here.
The ambiance is great. Big brick walls, great art, and amazing service. It’s the kind of a place you go to for a nice night out with family, for an anniversary, or for a business dinner where you don’t have to pay.
Although it’s amazing, you’re paying for it. The equivalent of 30 — 40 USD for a main course. 20 – 30 USD for a pasta course. That could be the weakness of the dollar though.
The food was really extraordinary. I had an amazing pasta dish with cheese, olive oil, and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, I really couldn’t ask for anything better. Beware that the portions are large, so go hungry, leave happy.
Unfortunately, my co-​workers took me out after dinner, got me piss drunk, and this morning I got sick and puked it all up. But it was good while it sat in my stomach.
