Mamas and Tapas is a very nice place when you want to have a nice time with friends. Vast and varied range of tapas, from cheese, chorizo, jamon cerano, to cooked dished like chicken, chili con carne, shrimps in garlic oil, etc … They cost only 47SEK each, so I would advice to take 3 each and then share with everyone at the table, like they do it in Spain, so you get to try a lot of what they have to offer. Convivial atmosphere, very nice and polite staff, spanish music in the background.

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. Sure we got the food we ordered and the waitress was polite enough but we had a hard time understanding how many dishes we should order(for a company of five) and ended up with quite a lot of food. The food itself was good(with the exemption of a chicken dish where the chicken was cooked beautifully on the outside but was weird and watery on the inside). I especially enjoyed the chili con carne. When it comes to the service it was okay, not a hole lot more than that. We had a hard time getting a hold of the waitress when we wanted to pay and she seemed stressed pretty much the hole time. The one thing I can’t complain about is the prices. A dish from the tapas menu was 47SEK à plate(and was calculated for 3 – 4 people) we ended up ordering 16 servings. And with my glass of sparkling mineral water I payed 200SEK(including tip). Other factors: We were placed right next to a window which got pretty chilling after a while. The space between tables was kind of tight so you had to wait for someone to pass before you could walk yourself. My friends that ordered wine got to taste the wine in connection with it being served. You had to leave your coat at a rack(ie. weren’t allowed to bring it to your table). Overall it felt like they wanted to be a(somewhat) fancier restaurant, but they didn’t quite live up to it.
