Was seated at a table and then sat there for 25 minutes while the staff talked to each other and walked past us several times without taking our order or even acknowledging that we were there, even though they sat us! We walked out and they just watched us. I know Sweden isn’t known for its service, but this was absurd.

Best. Brunch. Ever. I haven’t been here for lunch or dinner, so this is purely a brunch review — but oh heavens, what a brunch. I basically agree with everything that Laura said about the place and the décor — she wrote a great review. Only difference is, I ADORE it. We also ordered the brunch combination for two, including two drinks. Mmmm, there’s nothing like brunch with mimosas! Am I right? Anyway. So you get scrambled eggs, bacon, chorizo baked beans, cheese quesadillas, delicious homemade French fries, and a salad with a delicious dressing. Oh, and of course the massive pancake with ice cream that follows. I think everything tastes totally outstanding, and I’ve ordered this brunch three times now. The eggs are moist and buttery and perfect. The bacon is crispy and flavourful but not too salty. The chorizo baked beans are out of this world — it inspired me to make beans a more regular part of my diet. The quesadillas are very simple, but super delicious, and both they and the fries are super tasty dipped into the bean ragu. It’s like tapas for breakfast! Quite simply, we both love every single part of this brunch! The service is good in my experience too, with funny servers who joke with the customers but still let you have your space. They’re nice, but not nosy. By the way, they also have outdoor seating, and during the summer this is absolutely my favourite way to spend a summer — on the dark green wood benches, with someone you love, sharing delicious brunch and mimosas in the sun. And it’s right by Nytorget, which is even better!

Stumbled upon this place on arriving in beautiful Stockholm and enjoyed tasty food and friendly service. Perhaps this place has improved a fair bit as I really enjoyed my visit here. I had salmon and my friend had lamb and both were delicious. They had a great range of sides and I can recommend the sweet potato stew! The service was slightly slow at times, but the staff were busy and were very friendly when they got to you. Was lovely to sit outside with the patio heater(although they are just soooo terrible for our planet) on a rainy night. Also looked like a good selection of cocktails on offer.

I think Mississippi Inn kinda MISSed the point… hahah(not funny? ok :/) I was pretty excited to have brunch here when I heard they had American style pancakes, aka fluffy pancakes. I love Swedish pancakes but sometimes you just want a big, fluffy, moist pancake drenched in maple syrup and butter. Yum. Not to mention brunch is probably the world’s greatest invention. The décor of this place is really nice. It’s modern in an old-fashioned way, which probably sounds crazy but I guess you have to see it to understand. Think wooden slices on the walls and clear light fixtures with dim orange bulbs. It’s super cozy and that earned Mississippi Inn some points. My sambo and I ordered the brunch combination for 2. It included 6 small plates(scrambled eggs, bacon, chorizo baked beans, quesadillas, french fries, and a salad) We got the option that included 2 drinks, and added a pecan nut pancake. I must say, if you’re going to eat here I recommend doing just that. Not only do you save on the drinks, but you also save on the pancake. We paid 390 kr for the both of us, and we were full for HOURS. My disappointment came when I tasted the food. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing was outstanding either. I have to say I enjoyed the chorizo baked beans the most, but I would’t go back for them. The eggs and bacon were just fine. Lagom, if you will. The salad I hated because I hate arugula, and the fries and quesadilla were just odd additions to the combination. The pancake which I had longed for so passionately was also a let down. The perfect pancake is moist throughout. While this pancake was fluffy, it had a sort of crispy outer edge which put me off. It smelled heavenly, but there was something off about the taste that I can’t describe. I have to say though, those toasted pecan nuts on top of the pancake were the bomb! I would buy them in bulk if this restaurant offered it. In terms of service, our waitress was very nice and friendly. However, I received a plate with a greasy thumbprint on it, and had to get it replaced. Later on I found an egg shell while eating the eggs. Normally I wouldn’t really mind any of these things(I get it, stuff happens sometimes), but the quality of the food wasn’t impressive enough to merit more stars. Sorry, Mississippi Inn!

I’m not sure anything in here really tasted American. I only had the burger, which was like any swedish pub burger(with that gross mcdonalds inspired«American hamburger dressing» on it). This place really has nothing to do with Mississippi at all! I honestly felt like the closest it came to the concept was the«sweet potato casserole», but I didn’t order it so I can only guess at that. In the south, the BBQ is all about the quality of the meat and slow cooking it with heavy sweet and spicy flavors. I really would not know that this was supposed to be a «southern american» inspired place if I didn’t read the name above the door. Everything was dry and had confusing ideas about what it was trying to accomplish. My significant other got the«Mississippi Hot Dog» which is not like anything i’ve ever seen in the south. It also was pretty terrible. It was a dry-as-hell chicken sausage on top of what seemed like poorly grilled Naan indian flatbread that was still all wet and doughy in the middle. Not only was it all poor quality food, but WTF does any of that have to do with Mississippi? Just because you put«chili spice» in something does not make it an American southern inspired dish. Not a fan of this place.

Great burger, great milkshake. Really good service! A little bit pricey though! Worth a visit for the burger!

Overall not very American there are better choices in Stockholm for the cuisine. WIth a Name like Mississippi you should expect some resemblance of flavors from the south however it was far from it. The price is what you typically expect from a restaurant. Brief synopsis: Cocktails– Spot on flavor(tip: Margaritas are supposed to be served with ice so ask for a glass of ice) Sides– They were Swedish interpretations of what American sides are. Main– The jambalaya didn’t have any chicken or sausage in it and it tasted like spanish rice flavor Rice-a-Roni and served with aioli(why??? but it came in handy with the fries though) and half a lemon. The consistency was like they were trying to do a gumbo but yet ended up with a jambalaya. BBQ ribs were dried rubbed cooked then flashed with sauce however the sauce had zero flavor and the prominent taste was the salt from the dry rub. Service– was not what you expect from an American themed eatery. Advice to restaurant– Your location is in a very trendy area with very authentic competitors you need to be true to the cuisine. Please just google search your recipes before you prepare and serve them.

Had a really delicious brunch there with a friend. Ate at 12 noon and at 20:00 I sent her a message to say I was still full, I couldn’t even think about more food. So yes, I can highly recommend the veggie brunch for two. It included eggs, beans, grilled vegetables, quesadillas, chips, salad… I am sure I am forgetting something… there was a lot of food and it was all great. Having read the other reviews on here I was prepared for grumpy staff, but they were lovely. Really friendly and helpful, maybe there are new staff since some of the other reviews were written, or maybe they were just as delighted with the weather as we were, but everyone was all smiles. Would definitely have brunch here again.

I have only been here for BRUNCH but have been several times for that reason. It is a great place to get over a hangover with delicious eggs benedict and a pancake smothered in syrup while drinking liters of coffee. They do not have a mixed brunch dish like other places(a shame but the quality makes up for it) — you have to order mains like eggs benedict with a pancake separatley but the prices are good value. They have different kinds of pancakes to choose from and they are delicious with quality ice cream served with it– a delicious surprise. The décor of this place is really cozy and trendy at the same time– service is often in english and ok– though they could also put on some american charm– but then I guess they are not working for tips alone;) This is one of my favorite places for brunch in stockholm!
