Extremely slow service. With an hour wait, going to the kitchen twice and involving two of the waitresses half of our party finally got the food. The location is beautiful, there is a fantastic view, but this does not compensate for the wait time. At lunch 11 – 3 there are so many guests that the whole building is quite crowded. Yet, with only one bathroom, the line itself stretched out the door and down the path to the front door, eventually mingling with the food line.

Don’t get me wrong, the location makes it very worth a visit. But the restaurant itself isn’t so great. 75kr gets you a one-sided sandwich which is tasty, but not remarkable and very small. Definitely doesn’t fill you up for lunch. Also, not great service. Two people in our party ordered a la carte, and waited 45 mins for really simple dishes(like waffles) as opposed to the cold small sandwiches the rest of us ate. Our number was 27, and number 53 was served before we were. There were even people who arrived 20 mins after us and ordered the same thing and still got served before us. We spoke to several different servers and they kept brushing us off. The rest of us had been done with our sandwiches for 40 mins by the time the warm food was served. So, still worth a visit on a sunny day– but go for the great atmosphere, not for the food!

Various type of cakes, all fresh and tasteful. We were a group of people and enjoyed the place. The backyard seats are beside water and in a sunny day it is lovely. Unfortunately, there is no sugar-free cakes for diabetes.

If your grandmother was a world-class dessert baker, you would have spent every day dreaming of what delicious treats she’d have in her living room waiting for you. And this is her place, in real-life. The dessert table is mind-blowing. Downside: how much can you stuff into your mouth before exploding? All the things? Yes! We started with lunch: the quiche of the day(very cheesy, with smoked salmon) and a salmon toast. They offered lots of other Swedish specialties(open-face shrimp sandwiches, etc., with lots of daily specials). There is extensive outdoor seating on both sides of the garden-like café-house, with many of the seats overlooking the water and passing boats of the Stockholm archipelago. For lunch we sat out by the water(with a view of a small wedding taking place on the premises) but the clouds were rolling in and wind picked up, so we enjoyed desserts and coffees indoors. Lacy curtains, flower arrangements(many looked like they came from the garden outside), and nearly all-white décor. Getting to the café requires a walk all the way across Waxholm from the ferry landing, but don’t be discouraged: it won’t take more than 5 minutes! And there are signs all around — it’s obvious that this is *the* place to go!

I’m into dessert so I give it 5 stars just for that. They have an AMAZING selection. But the restaurant is really cute, good service, right on the water but off the beaten path from the hustle & bustle of the waterfront. Shrimp sandwich was great according to my husband. I had the meatball sandwich with pickled beets. It was great but I saw the quiche and wish I would have tried it.

My husband had scouted a bit on Vaxholm before we visited together & noticed this café. So, on Sunday morning during Midsummer and scattered showers we happened in to kill time waiting for our boat to Grinda. We had a delightful surprise! They were setting out a divine Midsummer cake buffet!!! We enjoyed coffee and cakes and my hubby had a typical Swedish shrimp salad(?räksallad?). Lots of families that morning and gasps of admiration at the cakes/sweets on display. This random adventure was one of our favorite memories on this trip to Sweden… we will be certain to return and see how things are on occasions that are not during the Midsummer holidays.

I came here after exploring the island. There is plenty of outdoor seating and a beautiful view of the sea. The food was quite good and reasonably priced. All in all I wouldn’t change a thing. This was a relaxing place to eat good food.
