Came here on a Friday evening and was lucky enough to be seated outside! The inside would’ve been too warm and stuffy(though they did have a fan running in there to help circulate the air). Was served almost immediately, so A+ for service, which remained pretty attentive throughout the evening. Interior is typical of your Swiss«American roadhouse» style diners, with lots of pictures of famous people on the wall. Nice ambience, though. I was pretty bummed that I couldn’t have the burger with a bacon and a sunny-side-up egg(don’t remember the name of the burger), as it was available only from Mondays-Wednesdays. Ah, well, next time! Anyway, I did order the Venice Beach(coleslaw, onions, bacon) — and I have to admit, I’ve never, ever thought of putting coleslaw into my burger, but it works well! Their coleslaw is also pretty good, which is worth a mention because most places can’t make it right. The burger itself was not bad, though I found the bun to be a little much and took away from the taste of the burger itself. Had onion rings(really good) and garlic dip(good too), but what’s really worth a mention are the sweet potato fries — which were absolutely fantabulous. They were a little thicker than I was used to, but were somehow perfectly crispy and tasted so good! To top off the evening, I tried some of the American cheesecake, which at CHF8,50 is pretty steep, but oh my god, I have never had better cheesecake in this country! It’s a little lighter than your actual American cheesecake, but this isn’t a bad thing. The texture, consistency, and taste were still there. The graham cracker crust was a little more mushy and grainy than what I’m used to, but now I’m just nitpicking. All in all, would definitely recommend.
