I think that this place is, of course, well-designed. It’s a visual treat just to browse the small shop space and I find myself visiting almost everytime I’m in the Josefstrasse. SDF is bordering on being prohibitively expensive, but, heck, if you like yourself enough and appreciate well-wrought items, then every now and again it’s worth the expenditure. Today was one of those days where I had wanted to treat myself to something nice. It was to have been a hand-knitted, hot-pot holder set of 2. There were red/white ones and black/white ones on display. I settled on the former. Although there were two sets out(one hanging on display and one lying next the b/w ones), the sales gal said that she couldn’t sell me a set because what they had currently was simply for display. They were expecting a new batch to arrive sometime next week, I think, I she asked if I wanted to reserve a set. I then gave her my contact details as was about to go on my way when she asked me if I ate at the Design Factory Café. I answered in the affirmative and she gave me a coupon for a slice of cake compliments of DFC. She wanted to give me two coupons(did she feel badly that I wasn’t able to buy the pot holders?), but I just took the one. Anywho, the ‘bon’ is good until the end of the month. –something to look forward to! Other items worth a perusal: lovely wooden spoons of various descriptions, a set of wooden-handled drain cleaners, salad servers, ceramic dishes, thick-weave throw rugs, scrub brushes… **As of 6.9.13, Senior Design Factory will reside at no. 28 at the Viadukt.**

Was dabei herauskommt?
