So surprised that this place has not been reviewed yet. From what I understand it’s quite an icon to the local area as it has been there for years . Firstly walking in the door I was very impressed the restaurant is beautiful decorated and reminds me of an Irish home. It’s very warm and welcoming . The restaurant is very small with little room but for some reason it’s perfectly ok, I guess most just be the homely nature of the restaurant. The tables provided Irish brown bread which on it’s own is a real treat. The menu is $ 50 for a starter and a main or a main and dessert. That might seem a bit steep. With that said the starters are very large and substantial. Offering a variety of options for all tastes. I opted for the Boxty Pancakes which where delicious a creamy potato pancake with a delicious sweet apple flavoured fruity sauce. Finger licking good. For the main I went for a Bacon and Cabbage dinner with fluffy potatoes to accompany it. The bacon was beautifully cooked and the cabbage was really tasty. Overall the dinner was very satisfying and even had some veg to accompany it as a side. I was definitely full after the starter and main combo and wouldn’t have finished a dessert had I ordered one prior to it. Thumbs up to a good food restaurant that should have plenty of reviews by now. Looking forward to trying other options on the menu sometime.
