I adore old second hand books, it’s the smell, the history of it and the question of why someone would give it away. Or did they just loose it? I go to this small little second hand book store in my local neighbourhood. They have so many classics, including old original penguin books to school textbooks dating back from the 70’s– never know what you’ll find. Recently I purchased a book on Feng Shui, not sure why… But hey, looks interesting!
The lady who owns and runs this second-​hand book store is very lovely. Usually we don’t speak as she’s busy putting books back in their place or sorting them out, however, when you catch her on a really quiet day, she’d be happy to chat to you about books or suggest some really good finds that she’d recently got in stock.
This place is the opposite of any commercial bookstore, it feels like a home full of unwanted treasures. You can relax as you browse through their shelves or go hunting for classic books in their $ 2 box.
