The staff are very friendly. The food was quite good. The coffee was terrible. Unfortunately with all the other options at Semaphore, I won’t be returning here.

The girls at the Corner Store are super friendly and relaxed — most of their energy is spent in the kitchen, turning out great quality food that’s all about the ingredients. I’ve been a few times, both during the day and at breakfast time. The food is fantastic — I’ve tried the cakes, which are gorgeous and recently had a tallegio and pancetta on sourdough, which was spectacular! The Corner Store have food products for sale, from locals Hughsli to international delights like salted caramels from France. Soak up some sun and the casual vibes with a side of great food down on The Corner.

By far the friendliest establishment I have been to in Adelaide so far — both the staff and the customers! I was hungry, but I didn’t know what I was hungry for… wandering along Semaphore Rd I recognised The Corner Store as somewhere I had heard recommended and so decided to give it a go :) Because I wasn’t sure what I felt like, I asked the ladies behind the counter what was good. They laughed and replied, «Well, you definitely need to start with a coffee!» I enjoyed the amaaaazing coffee as I perused the menu and the ladies talked me through some of their favourite dishes. Free range ham and eggs won me over in the end and I went for the eggs benedict and an iced coffee to go. I was applauded for my choice by another customer who also recommended the French toast — something to try for next time! Waiting for my food gave me a chance to peruse all the delicious bits and pieces on shelves near the counter. There are lots of food items such as infused olive oils, ‘Hughesli’(YUM) and spreads as well as some cute little homeware items. I wanted to try it all and I think I’ll have to go back and get something different every time! The food itself was delicious and I loved that it was so lovingly placed in the takeaway container so that nothing slid off on the journey home. The ham was thick cut and cooked with just a little bit of crispiness which was perfect. The egg was perfect too with just the right amount of runniness :) There was a tasty sounding specials menu, as well as such a delicious looking selection of cakes here, and I wanted to stay and try them all. It’s lovely to have somewhere with SA produce so nicely showcased, and the ladies who worked there made my day with their friendliness and willingness to find me the perfect meal. I will be back! Hopefully multiple times!

This was a pretty cool place, was very impressed that the eggs and ham were free range. I had a cappuccino which was really good. I also had the madam croque which was bread cheese ham with an egg also pretty good. The cheese was pretty rich though so I couldn’t finish it. The staff were lovely and is so close to semaphore beach. Don’t come here if you want fries or coke though.

The thing about living in the city is that leaving the city becomes a chore. To make me cross over one of the perimeter terraces, you’ll need to have something really compelling. The corner store is that. Barossa bacon from the blackest of pigs is apparently a good thing and something you want. The coffee is so good you’ll want to drink it until your doctor warns you that your heart has stopped palpitating and has simply adopted a steady vibrating hum. Don’t eat their sausages. You wouldnt like their sausages. Here: I’ll take them for you. The walls are full of interesting foodstuffs that ensure conversation doesn’t lull uncomfortably. The corner store. Go there.

Early in the morning, just around breakfast time, Over by the Corner Store they’re starting to unwind. Serving up Hughsli and French Toast to fill you up. Chloe picks the House breakfast and hopes it is enough! Down On The Corner, out in the street, There is a store that serves the best black bacon and poached eggs to eat! A mismatch of tables and chairs, a hodge podge of deli items and a smattering of homewares, you could mistake the inside of this place for the your Nanna’s pantry. But I’ve heard that the more clutter, the better the bread and butter and I can testify to this from my experience at the Corner Store. My soy latte left me wanting 10 more and the breakfast options that me and my counterparts devoured were a wonderfully simple mix of fresh healthy produce and«local bacon and sausages»(I don’t know how local Barossa is from here but… details). The service must not go discounted here either. Although the table we wanted to sit at was reserved 1.5 hours from when we arrived, the staff made an effort to accommodate us and were very speedy and friendly in their service. A great place to sit outside in the sun watching the unusual hodge-podge of locals walk by or to sit inside in winter and feel cosy amongst the hot chocolate mixes, dried teas, oils, pastas and other curious items… mmmm Prune Spread…

Semaphore has definately become a bit of an ‘in’ place. In fact, I would go as far as to say it is more fashionable than Glenelg(less of the common riff raff who wouldn’t know Beluga from Carp)! One of the stores pulling Semaphore Road into the light of all that is Hoit and Toit is The Corner Store, which is pretyy much the most popular place on the strip. They work as a Café and a gourmet deli, stocking many fine food options including meats, cheeses, pâté’s and the odd sweet or three. They sell both imported and local produce with Maggie Beer taking much pride of place as her products do so often now-a-days. Prices are not out of the ball park for their offerings, but still up there compared to a local megamart.

The Corner Store has an upmarket, continental vibe that is a one-off down on Semaphore Road. I love coffee, and I love small goods — so it’s squeals times two when it comes to this store. As well as a good selection of sauces, antipasto, pickles, preserves, cheese, cured meats and all that good stuff, they also whip up a mean brunch or light lunch fro around the $ 9 mark –I had a gourmet handmade pie here which was a dream. The coffee’s a-ok too. Lovely to see some local Aussie products on hand, like free range eggs from KI and everyone’s fave Maggie Beer; and it’s great to have the option to nab local, free range chickens, turkeys and geese for occasions like Xmas(not to mention imported panettone!)

The Corner Store is always occupied by locals and visitors alike, a cross between a continental deli and a café with its indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone’s going organic and they too have embrassed the trend with free range eggs, cheeses, meats and various pickles and condiments, it also stocks imported items. Serving gourmet style food for brunch or lunch oh and why not… afternoon tea and be sure to try something from their sweets section and wash it down with a nice hot coffee… mmmm yum. If you’re not planning on making anything for dinner and are over the fast food chains, they also do homemade takeaway meals which is something different — except for Sundays as they’re closed.
