Love this little grocery store. They have tons of healthy salads to choose and my favorite coffee –must try the Bullet — made with coconut oil and butter. Sounds odd but super delicious!

My favourite coffee in the world. Who would have thought the little local grocer could produce SUCH fine coffee! Smooth, strong(Campos Superior beans), hot — perfection in a cup.

Went here for some coffee and a sandwich! Great selection of sandwiches and the deli looks great. Coffee is Campos(which isn’t my fave) and was decent. The sandwich was a little plain but exactly what I needed. If you love Campos head to this shop I have heard they are very consistently good. Oh and check out their groceries at first glance gives Thomas Dux a little run for their money.

We found this spot on our first day visiting Sydney. It’s located around the corner from the B&B that we were staying at. It’s always confusing learning the coffee lingo in a foreign country. Giuseppi(we think that’s his name) was so helpful and suggested some coffee drinks for us. That was the only place that we went to for coffee. Lots of interesting Italian products. Will probably pick up a few food stuff gifts for friends and family back home. We will definitely be back when we return. Aloha and thanks for your help.

This is a REALLY expensive grocery store. I mean really expensive. So much so that I feel bad whenever I go in here to buy groceries because it’s usually only because I’m too lazy to walk down to Maloney’s or Wooly’s. But aside from the price, the staff are friendly, they have really good coffee, the shop itself is pretty and there are some great prepared foods in the deli section which is nice and convenient. Not the best produce in the world though — I bought apples here and they were actually mealy. Would expect a bit more for the premium prices. Best thing about this place — they always have Lindt Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt in stock! Mmm…

Crown Street Grocer has an expansive shop on the corner of Crown and Fauveux streets in Surry Hills. This gourmet grocer must find considerable competition in Maloney’s Grocer just down the road, as they both stock a wide range of quality goods such as pastas and pasta sauces, tapenades, gluten free products, olive oils, vinegars and fresh produce. Whilst Maloney’s may trump on their pre-prepared salads, Crown St Grocer has a great deli and its good selection of meats and an even better selection of cheeses are a step above those of Maloney’s Grocer. Crown St Grocer has a selective choice of fine chocolates and desserts, including tiramisu and deliciously smooth chocolate mouse and whilst I’m yet to try their coffee(beans by Campos), their selection of fresh sweets(Portuguese tarts and delicious chocolate truffles) always manage to snag me just as I think I’m leaving the shop. The best thing about Crown Street Grocer for me? They know how to stack a rack. Their fresh fruit and veg are always displayed immaculately, making your humble home bowl of fruit seem like a discarded pile of produce, no matter how much care you too may have taken in its appearance.

Crown St Grocer is loved by the locals. In fact if they branched this gem out to include a café, it would be packed every day. This place has all the earmarks of a great success story. Long trading hours, excellent coffee(Campos), great food and great staff. They’ve got breakfast sorted with a selection of pastries and a fridge full of fruit salads and yoghurts. Then they’ve got lunch covered with an amazing salad bar, with a huge amount of variety and super tasty salads. There’s also delicious pastas and pies for those looking for a hot lunch. And if you’re after something for dinner, look no further than the deli counters brimming with meats, cheeses and sauces or the supermarket shelves stacked with lots of delicious things like oils, pasta, chutneys and jams. There’s also the fruit and vegetables, should you wish you buy and make your own.

Waiting for our favorite restaurant to open(XAGE) we took a little walk down Crown Street to see what we could find. We ducked into the Crown Street Grocer on the corner of Crown and Forveaux. The small, intimate store draws you in and invites you to browse its shelves boasting a great variety of Italian ingredients, fresh produce and imported goods. They have a counter that serves coffee, juices and a mix of sandwiches and quick meals. We were tempted to pick up a couple prepared arrancini, but opted out since we were on our way to dinner. They have a small section of seating if you need to enjoy your purchases right away. The atmosphere is friendly and personal. They had some great specials and we picked up 3 packages of imported la Molisana pasta for under $ 5. The grocer is family owned and operated and has everything you need for your next Italian feast.

For a grocer to be open 6am — 8pm in Surry hills, it’s a great start. This family run friendly italian grocer is a true realisation that good customer service still has a place in this über-cool super busy, online purchasing world. You’ll walk in to see a range of fresh fruit and veggies, and a barrister serving beautiful Campos coffee, to the left are 3 tightly packed isles of imported deli style food, including award winning olives, oils, dried fruit, vinegar’s, the list goes on. For the sweet tooth, they serve fresh gelato’s and ice creams — all home made, and fantastic. For the busier customer, take to work some great home-made sandwiches, salads, or dried meats. Although the prices can be a little steep in comparison to a supermarket, it’s worth it for the imported and hard to find fresh cheeses, meats, and great service you get — ask for a taste test, and you’ll know why.

Crown Street Grocer resembles that of a fruit and vegetable haven. All of its produce is fresh, beautifully presented and is in good condition. Shopping at this grocer is an experience. They have a huge range of products and the service is impeccable! If you are cooking a special dish and they don’t have the item available or they don’t stock it, they are more than willing to try and source the good for you. In addition to fruit and vegetable, meat, cheese and pasta is also abundant. Pre-made meals are also available with breakfast an option in the form of yoghurt, cereal bars etc. They are open 7 days a week and operate for long hours(6am until 8pm). Crown Street Grocer is much like a local Italian grocer!
