Could not have been happier with the location… prime location and amazingly wonderful restaurant attached… we chose the apartment for three adults and it is so charming and filled with character. Open the windows and hear the church bells next door. After 11 hours on a train this was a real gem! Both rooms are spacious with a sitting area and a couch to look out window… Bed had a canopy and it was all just so Austrian. We are back for two more nights and now we are in Room 45!!! This is the best room and has a bathtub which is so nice… Two very large suites

Hier stimmt einfach alles.

I cannot say enough good things about Stadhotel Amadeus! The staff here go way above and beyond the call of duty to make you feel welcome and ensure your comfort, and all for an extremely reasonable price! On my last trip to Austria, my travel companion and I arrived in Salzburg from Rome VERY early in the morning(like 4 or 5AM) and in October it was already bitterly cold in the train station and there are some unsavory characters about at that hour(mostly drunk from the night before). We were sure that our accommodations would not be let out to us so early, but not only did the host give a us room to stay in(and sleep in!) while ours was being made up, he allowed us to keep it(it was a huge upgrade from the room we originally reserved) as the guests who had reserved it never showed up. Then, of all unlucky things, I found that my passport had gone missing on the train to Salzburg(complete nightmare!). The kind gentleman at the front desk called numerous agencies(station lost and found, police, etc.) remitting my problem to them in proper german instead of my broken attempts and even helped me figure out how to get to the Embassy in Munich to get a replacement. Truly, this man was a gem of a human being, so calm, polite and warm. When you’ve been traveling for three weeks already, these are the sorts of people for whom you are completely grateful. And the room! Holy cow, what a room! Four-poster bed, beautiful linens, posh bathroom and shower and lots of room! Don’t be fooled by the exterior(looks like it’s going to be rustic), this place is completely modernized throughout. Free internet access in the lobby as well! When I’m back in Salzburg, I already know where I’m going to stay!
