Kastners Schenke s’ Kloane Brauhaus

Abseits der Salzburger Touristenstroeme findet sich diese kleine Brauhaus mit leckerem Selbstgebrauten Bier, gutem Essen und einem freundlichen Service.

A wonderful small brewery and restaurant just outside of the tourist area of Salzburg. The food is authentic Austrian cuisine done with style and class. Pass on the touristy restaurants in the center and step into a local favorite. Venison in rich wine sauce, semmel Knodel and red cabbage. Great breads. I had the chicken scnitzel that was actually baked with a pumpkin seed breading. It was served with homemade potato salad with cucumbers. Huge portions. Each bite perfect. The dessert was an Austrian specialty of fresh plums in a beer batter topped with berries, ice cream and nuts. The atmosphere is a German pub, spotlessly clean, educated clientele and staff, much easier parking than in the center of town. This is the smallest brewery in Salzburg and we tried both of their favorites — a young unfiltered light ale that anyone can drink without getting a headache. The other was darker and richer. Both outstanding. We live in Texas. My husband is Croatian. We travel a great deal and like good food and authentic ambience.

Das Bier in Kastners Schenke ist nicht immer gleich (weil selbst und frisch gemacht). Gestern war aber zumindest das Gerschtl wahrlich exzellent. Und die Eierschwammerl mit Knödel dazu! Und das alles von einem der freundlichsten Kellner ever met.

This small, friendly Brauhaus was located just down the street from where I lived in Salzburg and it was one of my favorites. The people who work there are friendly and have some great beer. I highly, highly recommend the steak sandwich. I realize this sounds a little strange, seeing as this is not a «typisch» Austrian dish, but oh man was it good! My friends and I would go back for dinner purely for that. Over all a nice, cozy, friendly place. And when it’s warmer outside they have some nice outdoor seating. If you’re on this side of Salzburg I’d highly recommend it.

Spanferkel, Steak-​Sandwich, Knuspriges Putenschnitzel, Gemischter Salat der kompletten Familie hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Nette Bedienung in einer urigen Atmosphäre, faire Preise und ein krönender Abschluss: Nougat-​Topfenknödel mit Vanilleeis köstlich. Hier kommen wir gerne wieder hin. (Das selbstgebraute Bier war allerdings leider nicht so unser Fall sorry)

Waren gestern in Salzburg unterwegs und sind durch Zufall auf das lokal Kastners Schenke getroffen. Wie wir dann feststellen musten ein richtig gemütlicher uhriger Bierheuriger in mitten Salzburgs! Essen läuft in Buffet form ab was aber keines wegs störend ist, da es eine Klasse für sich ist. Das
Selbstgebraute GUATE ist ebenfalls spitze. Service ist sehr freundlich und flott ! Alles in allem ein super Heuriger!
Kann man mit ruhigem gewissen weiter empfehlen!
