First impression: Small old hotel. It was a rainy day, the carpet in the entry way was wet and started to smell, it needs steam-cleaning. Rooms has at least 12 foot ceiling. Our room faced the inside courtyard overlooking some air conditioning equipment and others’ windows. Our friends got a smaller room with a balcony that faced a busy street and a view of the opera house. The bathroom ventilation fan was noisy like a truck, it came on and off with some kind of delayed timer tied to the light switch. It took me awhile to figure out I couldn’t shut off the noisy fan at will. It takes patience. :-)

A nice hotel located directly opposite the Opera house in Vienna. The location is great and it is very close to the popular attractions in town. The hotel is quite nice with an old style elevator and the room I was given was also nice and spacious. The only drawback to the room is that it did not have air condition and if you keep your windows open it is quite noisy 24×7. When I stayed here it was quite a warm day and there was no choice but to keep the windows open and that did not make for a great nights sleep. Other than that there was nothing wrong with the place. The café downstairs is also nice and they seem to have reasonable food. I did not eat here so I cannot comment on the food but good food is only a couple of mins walk away ;-)
