Platzhirsch

At first I found the name a bit weird, but it turned out to be a very nice place. Furnishing is modern and suitable. Every time I was there, the DJ’s were and the atmosphere were great.
Sometimes it gets a bit too hot and packed in there, and those party– photographers, that take pictures without even asking before are annoying.
Bottle Service is nice, especially because of those firework candles and also because its cheaper than buying seperate drinks.
War anfangs skeptisch wegen des Namens, und befürchtete etwas ähnliches wie die Bettelalm. Ich wurde positiv überrascht. Alles sehr schön eingerichtet, die par mal als ich dort war waren die DJ’s super. Manchmal etwas zu voll und heiß, aber dafür gute Stimmung. Was mich etwas nervt sind die Partyfotografen, die ohne zu fragen herumknipsen.
Eine Flasche zu kaufen find ich allein wegen der sprühkerze schon immer toll, und zahlt sich bei ein paar Leuten schon aus, da sonst die Getränke doch eher etwas teurer sind.

One of the few clubs in Vienna where people actually dress up; but the guys end up putting on full suits (jacket and tie), while the girls are dressed in cutesy dresses/​clothes and actually spend time thinking about what they would look like.
WHERE:
A 2 minute stroll from Karlsplatz, along the ring, so you have tons of U and tram options. Relatively small club with two bars, a mini elevated seating area where the DJ also spins.
WHO:
You and your friends, and everyone else’s friends until about 2’30 am. Like most other clubs in Vienna, people love to crowd the dance floor and just hang out and not dance. I guess I was deceived the first time I went there because there were people in their 20s and 30s, and was really fun with lots of dancing, so I did not mind too much the 12 Euro cover price. However, since then, every time we go, its every just in college kid and their friends standing around looking sharply dressed, and its not until about 2.30 am that there gets space on that dance floor, and then you meet the coolest people, including the manager, and have a great time dancing (but for 12 euros, its worth thinking twice about). Also note that there is a coat check, I think its also 2 Euros, and its right at the entrance which goes slower than the cover collection, so people are pushing each other and being just rude, making one just want to turn around and go home.
MUSIC:
Also pretty good spinning; think top 40s with an electronic mix; definitely dancing music.
DRINKS:
Well. Three bars, but you can end up waiting a while for a drink. mid/​upper end prices. You can get a decent Hugo for 6 Euros, you can get a rum coke for 12 Euros. HUH?
TOILET:
Oh goodness girls. Please throw the paper in the trash. Please don’t spray water and your hair spray everywhere. Please keep the line moving, please move out right away because its very small with just three stalls, and please Platzhirsch management, please have soap replenished in there regularly.
SMOKIE SMOKIE: NO!
Relatively no smoking. Ever once in a while one person is smoking, no ash tray. My dry cleaning thanks you.
ONE OTHER NOTE:
I left my purse by the DJ, which I thought was right in front of me. I bent down to tie my shoe lace, and when I looked up, my purse was gone. I ran straight up the stairs and out the door, no purse. Then one of the employees came up to me and lectured me that they took my purse behind the bar for me when they saw it by the DJ. So, in one sense, DAMN DONT SCARE ME!!! on the other hand, ok yes, I learned my lesson, thank you for caring enough to give some tough love and make sure my stuff is not stolen there then, or ever.
OVERALL:
High cover for Vienna, especially for what you get out of it. Try to become friends with someone who can get you in without that cost. Bring your friends, meet some cool people around 4 am (but probably not much before), and do not put your purse down!

Wer für einen perfekten Abend eine coole Location, nette Leute und geille Musik benötigt, der ist im Platzhirsch richtig! Die Stimmung ist dort wirklich einzigartig.
Hab dort sogar schon einmal ein Firmenevent gehabt– das hat wirklich Stil!
