We’re currently in the middle of a three week tour of Europe. Our previous stop was three days in Vienna, where we were all craving good authentic Korean food, especially with the chilly rainy weather we encountered. Being Korean and from LA, our taste buds are well attuned to good hearty Korean fare. And this place did not disappoint. We ordered kimchi jjigae, soonduboo (has seafood in it), and bulgogi to share. We enjoyed everything so much, we ordered daenjang jjigae to cap off the meal lol. Needless to say, we came back two days later for our final meal in Vienna!

It is that good!
Their english is not the best, but they will manage.
Regarding food order, we used the imagines from previous reviews and got a an excellent meal at around 30 €.
Really worth paying a visit!
We the only occidental looking customers, in since it was full, that shows you how good and authentic their food is.

Ich gehe regelmäßig zum Kimchi Mittagessen da ich in der Umgebung arbeite.
Prinzipiell finde ich das Essen gut, allerdings auch nicht überragend.
Essen:
Das essen ist gut und frisch gemacht allerdings auch nichts besonderes. Es sticht also nicht heraus. Daher 3 Sterne von mir.
Trinken:
Standardgetränke gibts, ganz normal. 3 Sterne
Service:
Das Personal ist freundlich und meistens auch aufmerksam.4 Sterne
Preis:
Der Preis ist absolut fair, fast sogar günstig. Preis-​Leistung auf jeden Fall in Ordnung! 4 Sterne
Ambiente:
Es ist sauber und eigentlich auch recht gemütlich. Kann man schon lassen. 4 Sterne.
Zusammengefassung:
Ich gehe gerne zum Kimchi. Freundliches Personal und relativ gutes Essen. Als ein besonderes asiatisches Essenserlebnis würde ich es aber nicht bezeichnen, allerdings sicherlich über dem üblichen Durchschnitt. Daher gebe ich in Summe 4 Sterne

I love this place. I find the service very good and with a great memory, if you become a regular. I have been coming here since years and not once did I have a bad experience.
The food has also stayed delicious all this time. My absolute favourites are the noodle soups, the Bulgogi and the big Tom Yum Goong Soup (served with rice on the side), but they generally have great things to eat. Also very important point is that, there are always lot of Asians coming here, for business or family dinners…

The servers all spoke English although they did not have an English menu. Thankfully the word Ramen stood out to me. Our waiter tried to talk me out of Ramen and to get the Thai soup instead, but the seafood ramen was fantastic! Spicy broth, plenty of veggies and nice seafood portion. Very satisfying. And yes… I decided to eat Japanese food in Austria. Don’t hate.

Ya, its A-​OK.
1. The service
its the only place I can remember in which the waitress does not know what meal you are asking for if you ask for it by name; she wants you to ask it by number on the menu, and will bring out your food according to number on the menu (so remember that when you order). Also, better you don’t have any questions because the waitress’ Enligh and German is lacking. Menu numbers only people!
And then she will not collect your money. Only place I have ever seen in Vienna where after you ask to pay, another person shows up, asks everyone what they had, goes away, has a machine calculate everything, and then gives you paper invoice to pay (he collects right at your table). Hm.

Well a little tight.

The papaya salad is to die for, definitely hit the spot, but watch out it has lots of peanuts and quite spicy. Had the bulgogi, and while there was definitely enough of it, was not the best I ever had and surprising half the taste and spice that appears in teh papaya salad. Kimichi was decent, and the food of the folks around me also looked well prepared.
4. Environment:
Inside, quite a lot of seating, and near Landstrasse/​Wien Mitte. You can try a side room that is smaller, else typical large room, nothing to special or too tacky on the décor. Ok for dates where you know someone already (unless you are both die hard fans for Korean food, show up in jeans and have fun)

The Korean food at Kimchi is so very, very tasty! This restaurant a few minutes away from Landstrasse-​Wien Mitte was such a great surprise!
They have a wide choice of (yummy!) Korean specialties, as well as (big!) bento boxes and makis and sushis sets. The portion are impressive, the flavors are there and at the end of your delicious meal they will even treat you with some fresh fruits slices :)
The waiters were effective, kind and accommodating; to bad the acoustic of the room wasn’t optimal for a group (it was so loud at some point that we had to shout to hear each other!) but over all it was a wonderful evening! Don’t hesitate to check it out!

Sehr netter Laden mitten im Dritten. Wer sich über die Namensgebung wundert, Kimchi ist eine koreanische Spezialität und ich muss sagen der pikant eingelegte Kohl schmeckt mir ausgezeichnet. Die Einrichtung ist echt nett mit lustigen Bildern an der Wand. Im abgetrennten Raum gleich links vom Eingang haben große Gruppen locker Platz.
Vom Essen bin ich hier besonders begeistert. Mein Bulgogi war das beste das ich bisher in Wien hatte und der Salat zuvor mit Erdnüssen und Garnelen war auch toll. Da brauchte es für mich gar keine Nachspeise mehr, obwohl wir sehr gut aussehende Wassermelonen geschenkt bekamen. Preislich echt ein glatter Durchschnitt. Nur eines ist leider etwas negativ anzumerken: der Service schien ziemlich untrainiert und konnte sich mit uns in keiner der gebotenen Sprachen verständigen. Die Speisen wurden uns auch nicht mit ihren tatsächlichen Namen überreicht, sondern mit ihrer Nummer — ob ich das je wieder vergessen werde, dass das Bulgogi hier K1 heißt?!
Beim Zahlen ging dann aber zum Glück alles flott und in einwandfreiem Wienerisch. Also ein kleiner Tipp: neue Aushilfen besser an die Hand nehmen. Der Gast hat Verständnis und der gute Ruf leidet nicht.

Best ethnic food in Vienna so far.
I had the dolset bibimbap. Very good.
For me the only negatives are the limited variety of banchan and that some of my favorite Korean dishes aren’t on the menu.
It compares well to similar restaurants in Korea.

yeah, oh soooooo goooooood!!! we always have one of the cook yourself meat on one of those little table cookers which comes with a great variety of side veggies, kimchi, rice and sauces. the staff is really nice as well.

kein reiner koreaner, es gibt auch thai und sushi. koreanische gerichte (kimchi, bulgogi) waren gut und lecker aber nicht herausragend. ambiente modern
und kuehl. Da koreanische restaurants in unseren breiten sehr rar sind lohnt es sich trotzdem mal die kueche kennenzulernen.

Kimchi ist ‘né feine Sache. Das Essen ist sehr gut und dafür auch nicht teuer. Wer nicht koreanisch essen möchte, bekommt auch Thai-​Esen oder Chinesische Sachen. Die Sushi haben mich nicht vom Hocker gerissen. Sushi ist eben doch mehr als Reisbällchen mit rohem Fisch
Ich besuche das Kimchi immer wieder gerne, auch wegen der freundlichen Bedienung.

Hallo, also ich war gestern mit meiner Freundin hier und ich war mehr als begeistert vom Essen, Gastfreundschaft und Ambiente. Ich wollte schon immer mal koreanisch essen gehen und wusste deswegen überhaupt nicht was mich erwartet. Vorspeise: Als Vorspeise hatten mir ein Kimchisalat. Das ist einen scharf eingelegten Chinakohl mit reichlich Chilipulver gewürzt. Ist quasi das Nationalgericht. Dazu wurden Sojasprossen und Reis serviert. Hauptspeise: Ich kann mich leider nicht mehr an den Namen erinnern aber ich hatte eine scharfe Tofu-​Meeresfrüchte Suppe. Da drin schwamm noch ein ganzes Ei. Meine Freundin hatte Schweinefleisch mit Reis und mit anderen Gemüse die ich nicht identifizieren konnte. Darauf war wieder ein Ei aber dieses mal ein Spiegelei. Dazu gab es eine Art Chili-​Paprika-​Paste die sehr, sehr lecker war. Beide Essen wurden in einem heißen kleinen Topf serviert. Preis: Insgesamt haben wir für zwei Personen mit jeweils ein Getränk und auch noch ein Nachtisch 33 Euro bezahlt. Empfehlung: Für mich 5 satte Sterne. Das Essen war ein Traum. Ein Misch aus japanisches und thailändisches Essen mit einer eigenen Note. Ich werde dieses Lokal definitiv noch ein paar Mal besuchen. Für die Leistung ist der Preis sehr sehr gut. Im 1. Bezirk könnte man dafür das Doppelte verlange und keiner würde sich beschweren.

This location is actually the new Korean/​Thai restaurant Kimchi. The lunch menus are delicious and affordable and all dishes are msg free. There’s an extra room that seats 30 people, equipped with a karaōke bar.
