Sofiensaal

The Sofiensaal is a venue that lies deep in the soul of Vienna. This legendary Landstrasse ballroom was the scene of so many famous Viennese parties and entertainments. One can still picture Johann Strauss conducting his lilting waltzes or hear the Vienna Philharmonic recording in this hallowed space. After it lay abandoned for years and then sadly decimated by a disastrous fire in 2001, not much hope existed for its continued existence. Well reports of its death were premature. The Sofiensaal has been restored in all its grandeur to its previous glory. This is one of Vienna’s most impressive venues and one of the most beautiful restorations you will ever see anywhere in the world. Don’t miss it!
