Paramos en este lugar porque había un lindo ambiente. Era nuestra última noche en Rio y queríamos celebrar.
Tienen una carta de cervezas alucinante! Y la comida, riquísima! Comimos rabas y salmón. Todo muy fresco y bien preparado.
Es un poquito más caro que el promedio, pero vale la pena.

Great spot near Ipanema/​Leblon to cool off with an in house beer on tap after some time at the Praia. Huge portions, and delicious mozzarella sticks. I found their IPA to be just delightful.

Stopped here for lunch. They brew their own beer — I think because you can only have a few different types.
I ordered the IPA type — actually very good!
I had lunch — a big olé NY Strip — also very good.
Everything tastes excellent. I recommend for lunch.

If you don’t know much Portuguese but would like to have some authentic-​ish food and good beer and drinks in a safe and friendly atmosphere where you might hear some English spoken… Then this is the place for you!

If you’re looking for an afternoon spot to have a couple beers, Devassa is pretty ok. And I say it’s only ok because I don’t care so much for their beers (all are the Devassa brand). Despite not being a fan of their home brews, I like the location (only a few blocks up from the beach and in the middle of Ipanema) and I appreciate the fact that they’re nearly always open.
It’s a good spot to enjoy an outdoor table and share some fried snacks (lots of standard Brazilian options and even some American ones too — cheese and bacon fries). I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way, but if you find yourself in a bind on the corner of Visconde de Pirajá and Anibal de Mendonça there’s always Devassa.

I’ve never been a big fan of Devassa. They have a great beer selection, but everything on draft is just so-​so, and their IPA doesn’t taste anything like an IPA should. I’m fairly sure it’s just a dark beer that they labeled IPA.
Food is seriously lacking… the mozzarella sticks were soaked in oil and not cooked well enough (think of a soggy piece of warm cheese), which makes me think their oil wasn’t hot enough. It came with some kind of sauce that looked like marinara but was watery and tasted bland. Also, in Brazil you need to be careful of anything with «cheddar» on it. You can get real cheddar at Zona Sul (sometimes, and it will cost R$ 25 or so for a small amount), but most anything else called «cheddar» in Brazil is more akin to cheez whiz. So the cheddar bacon fries are going to basically be cheez whiz fries. They weren’t horrible, but I would never order them again.
It’s OK for a few beers, but there are so many better places around.

On my first visit to Armazém Devassa we partook in their buffet lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t cheap and it wasn’t particularly lavish given the price. That said, we were able to sit outside and enjoyed a couple of cold chopes (almost freezing beer served in small glasses) with our lunch. We were also able to try a few staple Brazilian dishes for the first time here like manioca and feijoada.
On another trip to Rio I stayed at the Mar Ipanema Hotel which is connected by a door to Armazém Devassa. Most mornings we had breakfast here and we also came for happy hour drinks.
Whilst not worth making a special trip for, if you find yourself near Armazém Devassa and in need of a beer or a snack this is a fine spot to stop.

Wie ein Irish-​Pub. Easy Bar mit easy Drinks. Hier gibt es eine riesen Bier-​Auswahl — ja sogar Kölsch — als Düsseldorfer war ich da natürlich doppelt geschockt :)
Service war sehr nett, ansonsten ziemlich unspektakulär.

Armazem Devassa is one of the few places in the immediate neighborhood that’s open late on weeknights (that aren’t super fancy restaurants). They have a surprisingly good menu. I had the grilled fish filet (it was some sort of white fish). It also came with mango breaded in manioc, which was interesting. They also have a bunch of cocktails available (including caipirinha’s, of course, where you can choose your cachaca). They also have many beer options beyond Devassa brand.

Vale a pena por ser mais uma franquia da Devassa na cidade e por ser muito bem localizado, pois é perto da praia de Ipanema, dá pra sair da praia e dar uma passadinha lá para bater um papo e beber um chopinho com os amigos.
Mas, o atendimento de lá nem se compara com os das outras franquias, pois qualquer pedido demora muito pra chegar, e eu não sou um cara que exijo simpatia em atendimento, mas lá é tenso quanto a isso, parece que estão fazendo um favor a você, nem parece que você tá consumindo na casa, tem que ficar lembrando os garçons de trazerem seu pedido.
O ponto positivo são os chopps, até porque não tem como mudar, né. Os chopps da Devassa são muito bons! Porém, vá em outra franquia, porque essa é furada.
Não comi nada lá não, até porque é meio carinho e só queria beber um chopp mesmo. Ah, e não voltei mais.

Sinceramente, pior devassa da história. Fui comemorar o aniversário de uma amiga lá e perdi mais tempo do que ganhei boas lembranças, apesar de bem localizado esse bar tem mais transtornos do que coisas boas. Pra começar o atendimento é horrível, o lugar é cheio e eles não prezam nem um pouco pelos clientes. Os preços não assustam tanto, já que não se pode esperar muito de Ipanema, mas o local é muito pequeno tudo fica muito apertado e demoram anos pra atender qualquer pedido, até mesmo um chopp da casa. Não vale a pena gastar seu dinheiro lá, qualquer outro lá em Ipanema é melhor.

Ai, eu sou fã do devassa, mas confesso que não tenho muita paciência para ficar nessa unidade da visconde de pirajá esquina com a anibal, não.
Já fui lá algumas vezes e o bar está sempreee lotado! É uma barulheira imensa! Você pode ficar tanto na parte de dentro quanto na parte de fora, na calçada e não acho nenhuma dessas partes agradáveis. Lá dentro é bem escuro, as mesas ficam quase grudadas uma na outra e o barulho reina, já lá fora, são poucas mesas e você fica na calçada.
O atendimento é demorado, até devido à confusão de espaço. Acredito que, por ficar em uma esquina, o devassa poderia aproveitar e ampliar o espaço, fazendo dois andares. O devassa da prudente também fica em uma esquina e não tem esse problema de espaço. Acho o devassa da prudente bem mais agradável!
