Restô Ipanema

Situado em um sobrado de esquina no bairro Ipanema, o Restô é um charme. Decoração que mistura o moderno com o kitsch, um belo bar à direita da entrada, uma carta de drinques deliciosa, um menu moderno, com opções de pratos servidos em pequenas quantidades, identificados no cardápio como Comidinhas, e um serviço adequado são características mais do que positivas para este restaurante. Ele tem poucas mesas em um pequeno deque na calçada, ideal para quem fuma ou para iniciar as bebidas enquanto espera uma mesa vagar. O salão que acomoda as demais mesas fica no primeiro piso. Tem amplas janelas para a rua. Experimentei o drinque Mojito do Restô e aprovei. É uma releitura do clássico mojito. Aqui ele leva rum, suco de laranja, redução de uva e club soda. E você ainda escolhe o rum entre três opções: nacional; 3 anos; ou 7 anos. Como não tinha muita fome, escolhi uma comidinha: Quinoa Deneuve — quinoa com aspargos verdes, legumes cortados em cubo, sementes de girassol e molho de iogurte con ervas. Servida em uma panelinha, chega morninha à mesa. Deliciosa. Pode parecer pouco, mas sacia bem.

Came here for dinner with my friends. There wasn’t a wait. We were seated right away. They have menus in English. No one really speaks English but as long as you know how to point, you will be just fine. They do take credit cards. I also like how every restaurant swipes the credit cards right in front of you so you don’t have to feel uneasy.
Now the food: I got a few appetizers. The meatballs were amazing. We also got the king tuna and gurrado (came on a bed of risotto). It was very well prepared and flavorful. For dessert we got a chocolate factory and 3 of us shared it. All I can saw is it was amazing! I had a Cafezinho with it. Our bill split 3 ways came out to about 70R each which is less than 20 $ per person.
Overall the place was nice and people were very friendly. It’s in a safe neighborhood, even to go out late at night. Knowing Portuguese will definitely help but you can still get around without it.

Great dinner spot in Ipanema! I got the Chouriço steak with a bacon/​cheese rosti and both were really good, borderline excellent, especially for the price. My partner got the risotto I believe, but it’s been almost a week since we visited. Nevertheless, the food was quite good and we would definitely go back. I considered giving it a 5^th star, but I’m pretty stingy with those. Overall it’s a 4.5!

Cute place. Nice decorations with great open windows. Friendly service, and nice food.

Lovely little place. It looked so nice we couldn’t resist going on and the food didn’t disappoint. I had the salmon salad which was lovely and packed with veggies, my friends had two different pastas and both were very happy with their choices. Shame there was no english menue, but with a bit of guessing we managed to figure most things out.

Thought I’d give it a second chance, and wasn’t disappointed. Maybe they had an off night the last time I was there, who knows.
All of the food was excellent, the steaks were cooked perfectly. I ordered mine «ao ponto», which technically means «medium», but in Brazil it’s more like medium-​rare. The drink I had last time was off the menu, so I went with an old standby, the dirty martini. It was the best one I’ve had in Rio, so good that I had two!
I’ll probably be stopping by again.

Atendimento muito bom, sangria de pepino com saquê é divino, e as porções são muito bem servidas!
Ambiente muito intimista e romântico, te faz se sentir bem confortável. Ótimo para um jantarzinho a 2.
Com certeza é um lugar que voltaria.
A entrada de cogumelos foi o destaque da noite, muito bom.

Not been too thrilled with the service on my few visits here, but LOVE the ambiance.
Never eaten, just drinks, would highly recommend if you don’t mind the staff being less than friendly, and are going with good company, and an ADORABLE ambiance. Cocktails aren’t that spectacular (those I’ve tried, anyway), but bottles are a safe bet.

I really wanted to like this place. The problem started when I was waiting to go to the ladies room I saw one of the kitchen staff to go in and out of the boys room and honestly I don’t think he had enough time to wash his hands. When our fish came it was completely raw. I asked the waiter to cook it a little longer. When it came back from kitchen it was ok but I didn’t hear any apologies for undercooked food. The risotto that came with the dish was kind of cold and not impressive at all. The restaurant isn’t cheap, it has a nice atmosphere but I won’t go back.

For our last meal in Brazil, we asked our concierge where we could get good Brazilian food, but in small portions. This made him laugh pretty hard since portions are HUGE there. He recommended a place nearby but when we got there it looked like a cafeteria which was not quite what we had in mind. We turned to Unilocal and found Resto was close by and decided we’d go with it. The place is small and quaint with window shutters that were opened to the street. There is a beautiful wooden circular staircase going up to what we guessed was the kitchen. Looked like our jam!
We decided on sharing the mixed empanada appetizer and a couple of small plates — the meatball extraordinaire and the shrimp risotto. The appetizer was 8 small empanadas, 2 of each flavor and each flavor was a different shape — great for sharing and ensuring you each got to taste every flavor. They were delicious! And, then came the small plates. Finally! Manageable sized portions! And, they were unbelievable. Our eyes rolled back in our heads as we tasted them. SO good! It made it even harder to leave Rio!
Did I mention the Caipirinha and Caipivodkas we had? Yeah… those rocked too! Next time you’re in Ipanema, go check out Resto. You will not be disappointed!

It’s a cute bistro with good menu. Good is well presented and taste good, though pretty big! Not inexpensive but choose around the menu.
Service a little slow but so are most things in brazil!

Extremely charming place and amazing food! If you go for dinner Fridays or Saturdays it can be packed, and it will take a while to sit down. On the weekdays not only it should be less packed but also they serve for lunch an «executive menu» which is more affordable and include a starter, main dish and dessert.

To be honest, I didn’t try the food, but found a place on the sofa and had drinks. The place feels like an Oasis within the very touristic area of Ipanema. The bar is well equipped and the service is very professional and friendly.
