The new management has hired pleasant staff. The décor is pretty as before. A small but nice selection of upscale café food: good croissants, nice crepes, fine coffee, tasty chocolates. My only wish is that they had china cups for the coffee, not just cardboard. I understand the logistics of setting up a dishwasher though.

Went In for first time since new owners. Was greeted by the new owners as soon as I walked in which was nice. First appearance the old owner took what appears to be most of the tables and nice chairs and many other things. It definitely feels a little empty and could use a few more tables. The food options are much less but great for a coffee and a sandwich or snack. We had red velvet cake, chicken pesto sandwich and 2 espressos. The cake seemed a touch old but the sandwich was great. And they serve food all day long unlike old owners. The espresso was good but a big issue I have is when they don’t serve it in an espresso cup. I hate getting a big cup for little espresso. I will definitely go back and visit new owners again.

I went back to my favourite Café in Burnaby and got a pleasant surprise. After my last visit the owners were able to fulfill their original vision by moving the attached store to the adjoining space at the back of the café. Not having been there for a long time I was pleasantly reminded of the quality of coffee, breakfast and service. Will definitely be back.

During peak times, they require a minimum order for privilege to sit inside their pretty parisian decorated store. The reason I wanted to even try this place, was how pretty it looked and wanted the experience of enjoying a coffee and pastry inside the café. You should be appreciative of every customer. Why give any customer preference based on how much they spend? EVERY customer brings value to a business, especially nowadays, with the power of social media. Worse part is, the café wasn’t even that busy when I was there… they were just reserving inside tables/seats for potential customers who may be ordering more. Not coming back and do not recommend coming here unless you want to support a business that doesn’t believe in providing great customer service to every paying customer.

Horrible experience. Food was ok but the staff are rude and almost confrontational. I will not be back.

Oh la la! Darling piece of European flair on Hastings. Brought out of town friends here for a quick coffee to go. The proprietor looked like a «street style» pic and responded warmly when I asked if I could take a pic. But, it is all about the coffee. One of the best iced coffee’s I have had. Coffee poured over ice and you can determine the fixin’s. Hit all the right spots on this muggy day. My Friends were pleased with their hot java.

Sometimes I like to «get away» within the Metro Vancouver area. So when I saw that this«French» Café existed on my commute home from work I was thrilled. Finally a Parisian escape away from my kids. BUT this was the worst experience. The hours seem to be made up on the fly and blonde lady who runs it is so rude. I stood at the counter with no «Hellos» or «Bonjours» for almost 10 minutes. When I had decided what I wanted I had to get the lady’s attention and she RUDLEY told me that they were no longer selling food. C’mon don’t let someone stand there if you know there is no more food. Tell them right away. I left with a 4 $ Americano that was the size of a Starbucks short. If I had of known this place was going to be such a bad time I would have just spent an hour with my metal head son. 0⁄10WOULDNOTRECOMMEND.

We’re in Vancouver visiting and after doing a general Unilocal search really wanted to try this quaint shop. However, after reading so many negative reviews about rude service and NOT being allowed to take pictures(we’re on vacation and love taking photographs), I think it might be best to not chance a miserable experience! Hopefully by our next trip up the owner will change their policy and allow customers to enjoy their experience!

Oui Paris is full of cliché décor items, but they serve good food and I love the little shop they had in the back. The reason I decided to leave a review is their coffee. OMG, amazing. Forget the cliché-ness and the borderline-smog attitude you get there sometimes, focus on the COFFEE!

I really wanted to love this place. Cute ambience, amazing décor, good looking menu. BUT. The bluntness of some of the staff, the amount of time they take to prepare food is unreasonable. It took 45 minutes for a sandwich. The price is also astronomical for the area. I paid 20 dollars for a sandwich and a tea, and they expect a tip on top of it. If you were in downtown Vancouver maybe you could get away with it. Here in the burnaby heights, those kind of prices just won’t be accepted. I love the concept and it’s adorable but unfortunately I don’t think it will last.

My momma kept trying to bring me to this place for some time now since they’ve opened because the décor looks so cute. We finally managed to visit it on a Sunday afternoon. Since I am an avid Instagrammer and love to support local businesses i whipped out my phone right away to snap a few shots of their over-the-top but cute French inspired design. Right away a was told to put away my phone by a lady who I assumed was an owner. For the next few minutes while we were ordering our croissants and tea she kept going on and on about people not respecting their privacy by taking so many pictures, and how she understands the design is amazing and everyone likes it but how do people dare to be so rude, blah blah blah. Right away I was feeling a bit turned off because I just don’t understand how can a business owner be so ignorant in this day and age regarding the importance of social media. It can literally make you or break you(and your business). That definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. The food was mediocre, although we only ordered croissants but they were just like any other grocery store croissants. The tea was very flavorful, however, so I can’t complain about that. The whole atmosphere seemed to be a little too much and like they were trying too hard to be French/cute/cool. I believe in second chances so I will be back probably to try a few more things off the menu but for now two stars it is.

My wife and I went to that establishment in the past as they had mostly cakes and coffee. The decoration is like out of a «C» rated movie about a stereotype French coffee house with 2 old witches running around. The coffee was ok but the cakes taste like typical Canadian cakes fresh from the garbage can. Recently we where in the neighbourhood again and thought lets have a coffee and a cake there to see if they got better. Boy we were disappointed again. We wanted to have a coffee and cake but where told that there is a minimum charge of $ 9.95 per person. What a joke do you guys think you serve high class food? Its only worth $ 2 as that quality I can get from Safeway to. You can already see the greed in the owners faces. I don’t think anyone should go to such a place. Quality=Bad, Service=Bad, Owners Greedy. Not a place to spend money.

After visiting Oui Paris at the end of April, I shared my perspective about the café on Facebook. Here’s what I wrote: «I really wanted to love Oui Paris. The décor is over-the-top with an excessive amount of cliché French items, but the ambiance was still a pleasant experience. The texture was a bit off when I tried the cream cheese icing for this cake. Then I tried the cake layer itself and it was dry. It seemed like the cake was stale. Maybe it’s because it was the end of the week on a late Friday night? Their cake selection was mostly a variety of chocolate cakes. The only non-chocolate cakes they had were a cheesecake and a orange grand marnier cake. We did like the orange grand mariner cake. The cakes were poorly constructed and sloppy, yet, their pastries appeared to have a lot more sophistication. Apparently, according to an Urbanspooner, they order their pastries from Faubourg. Maybe their crepes are better, but we didn’t get a chance to try because about two weeks ago, they weren’t serving crepes at night. I wouldn’t go back unless it’s late at night and I’m in the area, but then I’d rather go to Glenburn, which we did after. #disappointed» I later posted a question on their page about whether they bake their own goods in house. I don’t remember if I posted this same write up and photos to their Facebook page and couldn’t check even if I did because they were quick to disable the public posting function. Forward a few months to now. I just realized that there’s an «Other» section for Facebook messages. Theresa, the owner, had messaged me as below: «jeanette. .if ur cakes were off and so bad u felt the need to post it on a social media site !!! I ask u why dod u not complain on the night directly to the owners !!! u all have such big mouths behind a computer and phone !!! I fail to agree with anything u have said about our food as I know for an absolute fact and a professional food industry owner .we DONOTSELLANYTHINGOFF… OLD …OROTHERWISE ! PLEASEDONTCOMEBACK … I cannot stand u weak individuals who dont have the balls to speak face to face with people and hide behind ur b ullshit social media sites … you are not welcome back st our café ever again» Theresa has responded to other Urbanspoon reviewers in a similar fashion. Although defensive, her other responses are generally friendlier and apologetic. Be warned: if you do have a problem or unfavourable comments, you should mention it in person. I hope this gives you an idea of what you might encounter with Oui Paris.

The good — The service was awesome. Everyone I spoke to here was really friendly and welcoming. The bad — Who puts a scalding hot latte in a water glass? Apparently they do. Since there’s no handle on a water glass, I couldn’t even pick it up to drink it. Despite the undrinkable coffee, the food was good although a bit pricey. Tips — Seat yourself and order from the counter as there’s no table service. Oh, and make sure you ask for a mug for your latte.

I like the concept and here it’s well executed — a French-themed café with a relatively extensive menu, nice décor that isn’t too over the top and/or tacky, good quality food and great coffee. Sandwiches are huge. Coffee was smooth and not burnt. Smoothies are great as well–«gym junky» with the dark cherries is my fav so far. They seem to have a fulltime chef in the back, so I think they’re well invested in making sure the food is top notch. Crepes are made in front of you(and the sandwiches are made to order). After making a few trips already I’ve been happy, and planning to head back again soon.

An overload of Parisian stereotypes makes every person who steps into Oui Paris feel like a Parisian princess. The décor and ambiance in this cute little café was enchanting and brings me to Paris. The owner of this gem was inspired by feeding her obsession with French décor, but has never been to Paris itself. Nonetheless, you got to say she did a great job with the vintage photographs, accordion music in the background, and fleur de lis decos. It goes without saying that although cafés in Paris are generally more simple, this French-décor overload was captivating and what made the café ambiance attractive and cute Onto the more important part: their food was just as wonderful as their décor. I had their special of the day, the baguette with Brie, prosciutto, pear and walnuts, and an iced mocha. I ordered then mocha after seeing their shining silverware espresso machine, and the drink was just as charming as the kitchenware was. I could tell that they use high quality espresso beans by my first sip and it’s resulting buzz. Drink was not too sweet and the perfect caffeine dosage to last a long day The baguette was nothing short of cuite à perfection! The flavours complimented each other seamlessly and the baguette was just as it’s supposed to be: crunchy on the outside and soft from within and appropriately bringing back memories of numbed roofs on my mouth from chewing on a baguette in Paris. Overall, fresh foods and appropriate portions, surrounded by an overload of ambiance… A wonderfully nostalgic yet enchanting experience. Prices were reasonable, but edged slightly higher than what I would normally spend at the café, but the experience was well worth it. I would definitely visit again when they work out some operational kinks.

I tagged this entry on my to-do list based on the front page picture of the eatery posted on the front page of Unilocal on April 1st. OMG I am in LOVE with the décor. It’s so charming and feels out of this world in a nice way. The bad feelings I and depression I was having today just washed away. It was like being in Paris but not at the same time. They had accordion music in the background, however, the ambiance was interrupted with the soccer game. It killed the mood a bit but at the same time, people in France would more likely would’ve been watching the game… so I went with it. I didn’t jump on the band wagon of coming here right away ’cause I wanted to give them a chance to work out the kinks since they just opened. The place is only open until 5 pm which makes it difficult during the M-F to get here in before the weekend. It gets very busy on the weekends. Actually it gets busy all the time from what I hear. I love macaroons, however, I found them to be over priced for what they are at $ 2.25. At that price I would’ve and should’ve asked for the display chair used to house each. The flavors aren’t listed which annoys me. I had the salmon cream cheese crêpe which was good. Too many capers. It took me a while to adjust to the pallet. I had the French onion soup without the cheese. Loved the soup. I had a slice of apple pie which was okay but nothing to write home about. Latte was okay, not horrible, however, had better. Service was decent. They have a $ 10 minimum for using a card which they have a right to do, however, considering that certain things are overpriced it seems a-hole-ish to imply this. I’ve been to a lot of coffee shops and spent under $ 10 where this wasn’t an issue. If they’re concerned about banking fees they may want to switch to foursquare. imposing a minimum even though most spend that anyway, sets a bad business tone. Customer service was awesome and friendly. I can only give 3 stars at this time as there are still kinks and concerns noted that they need to work on. I will be back.

A Parisian influenced café — extravagantly baroque and rich in experience. For the ambience and atmosphere, it’s a winner for a stylish spot on Hastings. Definitely worth a go for a coffee with a friend or an after dinner dessert spot… but still improvements to be made. LOVED their Americanos, well — 2 of 3 times. Experience 1. Coffee & Dessert‘ We went opening week on their first Saturday. Fully packed, loud and disorderly, the staff scrambled to serve customers. After a 20 minutes wait, we asked the staff about our order and they had forgot about it. Not good. When my bf finally got his nutella crêpe, he said it was better than Café Crêpe. It was a good crêpe.“ Experience 2. Coffee & Dessert We went the following Saturday. Again, fully packed, loud and disorderly. We waited 20 minutes again, and we finally got our waffle. All they had to do was warm it. Again, not impressed. Experience 3. Coffees. Went for coffees with my gf tonight who’s Italian and knows her coffee. She had a cappuccino and her comment: «not good, no froth and coffee grinds at the bottom.» My Americano wasn’t smooth and delicious as the previous time either. Concept is brilliant.(5⁄5) Atmosphere is a winner.(5⁄5) Staff professionalism(2⁄5) Execution/delivery needs work.(1⁄5) There’s still time for improvements — to systemize and build in consistency across quality/process. I definitely want them to succeed with it! Let’s see how they do after the first 3 months. What’s more: — Loyalty card. 7 coffees and your 8th is free. — $ 10 minimum purchase when using your credit card(or pay 25 cents extra)

Brings me back to Paris. This is a cute little café that has just opened last week so they are still working out all the little kinks. The prices are decent and they even have items from the day before for ½ price. A lot of food is usually wasted, so that’s a good way to try and sell the items the next day. They open at 9AM and you can have crepes along with your coffee right in the morning. My spinach, feta, mushrooms and spinach one was lovely. Unlike most places that slab on the mounds of butter, Our Paris Café has the right amount without making the crêpe too heavy. The ingredients are fresh and cooked right. The sandwiches aren’t made till later in the day.
