Cafe 13 Main St Grill

Based on my previous times here, the staff is very friendly and outgoing to please the customers. I am happy to be back.

Enjoyed our meal here with friends after a day in Galt. Décor was recently refreshed making for a very cozy pub atmosphere once lights are dimmed and sun goes down. Service was excellent. I had the chicken breast with risotto. Chicken was a bit dry and bland. Risotto needed salt but was very tasty if not a bit overcooked. My friend ordered the smoked pork chop which was excellent. Best he ever had.

Atmosphere is relaxing and casual. The waitress is very friendly and helpful by checking upon us often enough to have everything we needed. the downfall is that the food was nothing special. Soup was a tad salty and the fries came out to be a little burnt. I expected food quality to be better in comparison with its price but it wasn’t and therefore I give it only a two star.

Great food and service for lunch! Group of four popped in for lunch. The specials suited half our group and the vegetarian burger exceeded my expectations. Living in BC, I’ve had lots of veggie burgers… This was the best! If we lived closer I’d be here regularly

I am a self proclaimed food nut. I love to eat and I consistently look for great restaurants. Keep looking past this one.
My husband had the dead elephant beer. Very good but not nearly as cold as it should be.
Then he ordered the Cajun wings but before he was even done ordering, quickly changed it to the jerk spiced chicken wings. Our server brought jerk chicken breast. (Which was dry and barely tasted of jerk flavouring at all).
Instead of politely apologizing for her gaffe, she was rude and belligerent stating «well I heard jerk chicken» (completely leaving out the wings) and just kept repeating herself.
Finally, she offered to take it back but we didn’t feel like waiting as I only ordered the Asiago and crab tostadas for dinner (which we waited for until the jerk chicken breast was ready and subsequently arrived cold and awful).
Our server then offered my husband dessert but he’s not a big dessert guy. She walks away. Then she comes back «we can offer you a beer on the house» fine gesture but he was driving so politely declined.
We ask for the cheque. She comes back charging us for the jerk chicken breast and says that she «graciously took off 10% of our bill ($ 4).» The wings were 13.99 and the breast was 19.99. My husband says he wants to pay no more than the price of the wings. She walks away again. She comes back and says «well I did the math and it’s cheaper for you if we take 10% off the whole bill».
Last I checked, savings of 6 $ is better than savings of 4 $. Tsking and sighing all over the place she finally agrees to charge for the wings not the breast.
We got up and paid and left. Needless to say, she did not receive a tip.
Unbelievable and we will not be back.

The staff just added to our experience. Everybody was so nice and welcoming. It’s definitely a pub type atmosphere but the food was rather good. The chef even explained a bit of the dish to us. Our bartender’s name was Will and he was very nice and had a passion for the local craft beers on tap. Our bartender got in a bit of trouble for offering me a sample in his efforts to help me make an informed decision. I completely understood but found it very off putting and not very professional to reprimand him within ear shot of us. The food was great and the atmosphere was decent. What really made the place (to me) was the staff. And in my opinion. That’s what sets you apart.

Went here for dinner with a bunch of friends. We were a group of 10. I called a few hours ahead to let them know we were coming. They are a new pub in town so we wanted to try them out. The décor was really nice, definitely a step up from the business that used to be at this location. The staff was friendly.
That being said, I really wish I could write a review on their food but that would have required me eating some, which I didn’t. I have a gluten intolerance so I always check the menu ahead of time or ask the restaurant about gluten free options. It took the owners hours to email me back about gluten free menu options. Luckily I had picked out ahead of time options that I knew I could eat for sure. Upon ordering I was informed that everything that I COULD eat was out of stock with the exception of plain lettuce and edemame. I was pretty disappointed and frustrated. They also didn’t have 2 other meals that my friend ordered in stock.
They tried to make it right by offering free appetizer cards but let’s just say I won’t be going back… I left there with an empty stomach and ended up going to Zehrs for some chicken.

I went there for lunch today and had their special. It was grilled salmon on a warm red potato salad and grilled asparagus. Now, normally I stay away from fish at restaurants as I find they often over-​cook it and it gets dry. But I decided to take a leap of faith… It was AMAZING. The salmon was done perfectly. The potato salad was nice as well and the asparagus wasn’t dry or burned. There was a sauce drizzled on the plate that was also really nice. Five stars for the food.
My only complaint was the slow service. I was there on a Wednesday at lunch and they were still slow. In the waitress’ defense, I used to work in a restaurant and it CAN get a little overwhelming when all your customers come in 4-​table waves.
I would absolutely come back and recommend this as it is downtown Cambridge and there are lots of little stores you can walk around in that area!

The food here was wicked good. I had the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon and it was fantastic. The pork was moist, and the veggies were done perfectly. The service was a little slow, but it’s fitting for the laid back atmosphere here.
