Don’t go, over priced and mediocre. Dirty menu’s, indifferent service and small expensive portions. We shared two appies and went elsewhere for mains. Sad state.

Disappointed, food was too over done with marinade and citrus(particularly the vegetables). I was expecting better for the amount paid per person for The Greek Platter. I’m just never returning.

The owner of this establishment told my wife to «go $&#% herself» after she confronted him on his derogatory remarks about Canadians. I don’t need to taste the food to know I do not want to support such a person or restaurant. Just sayin…

Wow! So glad we came! My husband & I decided on dinner & a movie! Well, we won’t have any room for popcorn now! We enjoyed splitting a large greek salad followed by Red Snapper for my husband & the vegetables & shrimp stewed in tomato sauce! So good! Very generous portions! Romantic atmosphere too! We’ll be back again for sure!

What a wonderfully quaint restaurant! The service is sincere and friendly. The atmosphere takes you back to another time. The meals are lovely. The food portions are large and most things can be served Family Style. Most people would be hard pressed not to be full at the end of the meal. The Greek Salad is easily shareable and the Red Snapper the I had was amazing. Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside. The veggies were traditional and done perfectly. I can’t wait to come back when I have a larger appetite!

Ok, so it’s not the sleekest place in town. It’s old school, family style, home cooked, Mediterranean food… Just what I love! Those whom know, know that Greek food is very similar to Lebanese food, and as a little blond Lebanese girl, I know good food! Especially if it is from the Mediterranean! It’s not exactly cheap, but the portions are quite large — hence Family Style, so come with family or friends so you can order a variety of foods. If you do come with just you beloved, reserve one of the romantic tables beside the fire. They are so cute! Eat, drink, be merry! Oh and don’t be freaked out by the wired manikin tableau set up over the fireplace… I don’t quite get it either.

Grub Med offers friendly service but the food is very overpriced. Prices need to come down 40−50% to reflect the value on offer, but the full dining room tonight suggests that their overpriced menu isn’t scaring patrons away. I’m glad to have tried it out, but I doubt that I’ll make a return trip. By the way, the owners and staff appear to be Eastern European, not Greek.

Taste was OK. But the portion was too small. You might want to grab Big Mac on the way out.

My friends and I come here at the end of the week for Pizza. The service and their pizza is appreciatively nice. The waiter gives us discounts sometimes, since we are regular customers. The atmosphere is nice as well.

The outside of the restaurant is a bit shady. If it had not been recommended, I would not have chanced it. Inside however, the owners have taken great pains to make it appear cozy and romantic, which it does very well. The food is decent, but more on the bland side, and absolutely far too pricey for the quality of the food. The food didn’t take too long, but our appetizer was not as warm as it could have been. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was pleasant and very helpful.

I went here after buying a dealfind voucher. I was skeptic because of the mixed reviews. Personally I found the food good but for what you pay and what you receive is not practical. For the price of a lunch menu sized lamb kebab of $ 14, it came on a side plate because the portion was so small. It had 4 cubes of meat on the skewer and 3 small roasted potatoes. For that price anywhere else you get 2 skewers, rice and potatoes. Everything is so overly priced. Good thing I had a voucher so it wasn’t so expensive. If they lower their prices to reasonable and comparison they would be busier.

Oh, heck yes. Big, massive, delicious thank yous go to my friend Michael(not my Michael, a different Michael) who hosted a big, private party here. I had never heard of nor seen this place before. But I’m down with any place that goes by the name Grub Med. I really can’t say which was better, the food or the service. Generous and friendly staff who kept the delicious food and wine coming!(Well, to be honest, the wine was just fine, not amazing, but it wasn’t my choice.) I’m not a vegetarian, but I try to stay on the healthy side of things, and I loved the veggie spreads that were included in every course. The lamb was the real stand out the night. Perfectly cooked and flavourful, I definitely could have just kept eating course after course of lamb. It’s a cool atmosphere and I even didn’t hate the creepy mannequin on the balcony by the end of the night. But that may have been the wine talking.

I took my wife there on September 13, 2011 for our three year anniversary. I had gone here before and everything was good back then except for the too salty lemon potatoes. both of us had the Mezza Feast with Chicken and Lamb($ 32 each) and enjoyed it a lot! The potatoes are not longer too salty and very tasty. The service was really good and our waitress was friendly and explained our food choices to us well. She even took pictures of us with our camera. Then when she found out that it was our anniversary she came out with a free flaming sambuca and ferrero roche chocolate for each of us. The ambiance is a bit cheesy(look up to see the creepy woman mannequin sitting by herself) but it was nice and quiet an we liked the fireplace. We’d come back again!

I assume the name is a play on «Club Med,» the chain of resorts, but you’re unlikely to get the same quality of food or service you’d get at Club Med. My dad had visitors from out of town staying with him on Father’s Day, so we went out a week later. I can’t tell you the last time we’ve gone out for dinner together, but I’m guessing it’s been at least 5 years(we usually go to his place — my dad is cheap). He’s been to Grub Med a few times and enjoyed it, though he’ll also admit to never having been to another Greek restaurant, so he really has nothing to compare it to. He also gets coupons for the place, and my dad sure loves his coupons. The outside of the restaurant is fairly plain, and not really nice to look at, but the inside is tastefully decorated. We arrived for our reservation at 6, and we were the only table for at least 30 mins before some families took a few tables. Our server briskly explained the menu before vanishing for awhile. Not sure what he was rushing to do because we were the only ones there. My wife ordered borscht to start(yes, borscht at a Greek restaurant — everyone working there was Russian, which was odd), and she only finished half of it, saving room for the rest of the meal. When she asked for the remained to go, it was as if she made the strangest request. The server, in his rudest voice said«TOGO?! You want THIS to go?!» and when my wife confirmed the request he made the strangest face and rolled his eyes. It was a rather large bowl — it’s not as though she was asking for a few drops. Our food came — my dad and step-mom got lamb, I got chicken, and my wife got salmon. My chicken was a bit overcooked, and my wife’s salmon was so over-cooked that she only had a few bites. The potatoes were good, but that was all. Throughout the night we had to put up with more eye-rolling and abrasiveness from the waiter. I don’t know what his issue was, but he really shouldn’t be interacting with the public. This, combined with the low-quality, high price of the food ensured we’ll never go back to Grub Med again. The total for our meal(4 people, no drinks beside water, and saving $ 28 because of coupons) was $ 129. There’s absolutely no way the meal was worth that, and if my dad ever wants Greek food again I’m going to save some cash and take him to get fast-food. It’ll be better, and a whole lot cheaper. I must say, the one positive thing to come from the meal was that I was able to write the first review on Unilocal.Go to Yanni’s, go to Koutouki, or even hit up Opa, just don’t go to Grub Med for Greek food!
