OK, so I admit I am REALLY spoiled when it comes to chocolate. My husband and I regularly visit a shop in Fernie, BC where the most incredible chocolate is made from scratch in-house(i.e., from cocoa beans) using antique equipment. I also regularly purchase several brands of fair trade chocolate from local shops which I love. Though Purdys does not taste quite as good as my favorites, I do really enjoy the filled chocolates available here(e.g., caramels). The quality is great compared to the kind of stuff you find in most grocery stores, and Purdys offers a wide selection of chocolate and chocolate-based products. For those on a budget, Purdys offers bulk«almost perfect» chocolate at a 30% mark down, sorted into bags for around $ 10 to $ 20. These bags are often a mystery mix of filled chocolates, though I have seen other items such as brittle here too. These chocolates taste exactly like the«perfect» ones; I think the folks at Purdys are just very particular about the appearance of the chocolate that ends up in their gift sets and display cases.

Dude, they have freakin’ amazing chocolate! What’s not to love?! Well, maybe not their prices, but still! Freakin’ amazing chocolate! Need I say more?

I was in a pinch, needing a some kind of «thank you» for some friends, when Purdy’s bright purple sign called to me like a beacon. Although I wish they hadn’t been in Christmas wrapping, the chocolate sets I picked up were very pretty, and I’m sure they were tasty, too.(Lucky friends!) Purdy’s had a great selection of milk, dark, and mixed chocolate boxes, and plenty in stock. I also treated myself to an ice cream bar — with sprinkles! That will definitely keep me coming back again and again!

The service I received was perfunctory and without a smile. However, the candy was OUTOFTHISWORLD! :) I’ll go again, for sure.

Forget diamonds — chocolate is a woman’s best friend! Hands down, no contest! I went to Purdy’s for the first time yesterday and, I have to say, it was very good! There are so many different chocolates to choose from! I got a bag of chocolates that included: hedgehogs, peanut clusters, coconut clusters, chocolate daisies, vanilla caramels(my favorite by far!), and some different truffles. Can you say yummy? YUMMY! They also had some great peanut brittle fudge to choose from! My mouth was grateful but my waistline might be mad at me later! It was totally worth it though! My bag was approximately 10 chocolates and it cost $ 10. That’s a little pricey in my opinion, but like I said, it was totally worth it!
