JACEK Chocolate Couture

Beautiful chocolates and very pleasant staff. Very pricey but it is worth it from time to time (if you’re on a budget).

Jacek does make some wonderful chocolates, and it’s certainly worth a visit to check it out. They have seasonal features, which you can also buy at Credo next door, and they also do fun things for holidays. However, I can’t give more than 3 stars as there’s just a few setbacks I can’t get past.
1. They charge for their chocolate boxes. You can 6 chocolates in a bag for $ 12, but if you want it in a box, that will cost you $ 1.
2. The staff could be a bit more friendly. Of the handful of times I’ve been here, I can say only the most recent time was I properly welcomed. There have been a times when I’ve walked in, the only one to be in the store, and not even greeted. That’s super awkward in such a small shop.
3. It’s just not as good as my favourite chocolate shop that is also downtown (and my fave place gives free samples too).
That being said… This is MY opinion and you could go and completely love it.

I was parked in front of the store so I decided to go in. It is pricey so I was hesitant to try some of the more exotic flavours. The salted caramel was delicious but I don’t see myself going back. The price and the flavor pairings are not my cup of tea.

Let’s face it. Not everyone can get into the head space of premium chocolate. It isn’t for everyone. However, I recently purchase the Fire Opal Valentine’s box and the mad hatter collection as a Valentine’s gift. The Valentine’s box was a special chocolate for the season and it had this crazy sensation. When first biting into it, it tasted like silky dark chocolate and slowly it began to heat up with a slight chilli flavour. A time delayed flavour like someone turned up the thermostat and the heat was suddenly on! Amazing, I’ve never experienced something like that in a chocolate. It put a smile on my face. The mad hatter collection was also excellent.
It’s a pricey venture, no doubt. A box of 11 was 22 $. 12 mad hatter chocolates cost 24 $. However, I’ve never ever regretted a purchase from Jacek. It’s been a hit with every gift. It really makes a great gift and a nice special treat.

I couldn’t imagine having anything better than these chocolates. Definitely a guilty pleasure. While I realize that the price is a little high, it’s totally worth it (in moderation). Cheers to Jacek, because yum!

Jacqueline is one of my very favourite people in town! How could you not love her enthusiasm, friendliness, knowledge about all things chocolate, and of course, her decadent chocolates themselves! Ever since I stumbled across her chocolate tastings last year, my life has never been the same… seriously! The Jackie bar is to-​die for, whilst my boyfriend’s favourite is The Audrey. I’ve tried numerous collections, and all have been interesting, perfectly executed and a moment of bliss in your mouth… Do yourselves a big favor and venture over to her new store in Edmonton (104^th Street) or her original flagship on the edge of Sherwood Park! If you get a chance, sign up for a monthly chocolate tasting — we’ve already been to two! It’s worth every penny and gets you seriously excited for all things chocolate!

Oh goodness I don’t have the words to express my love for this place! I was able to stop by on their grande opening and I could not have been more luck! y! The staff here are absolutely fantastic and I’m so stoked to see this place downtown instead of having to wait till Saturday at the Farmer’s market to pick up some of their delicious treats! I tried not one but THREE free samples at the grande opening and left with no less than a box full of chocolate and some delicious bars, all which were gone within the day.
The quality of this chocolate is completely exquisite and the craftsmanship has yet to be rivalled in Alberta. Frankly, their creativity with their chocolate blows me away! I can’t imagine my life without Jacek, I love their pretty blue boxes (they remind me of Tiffany’s … luxury chocolate you know) and I adore the J’s scripted on each one!

I definitely recommend this chocolate couture! Especially this location.
I walked in to pick up a few chocolates and I was immediately blown away by their selection, not the quantity but of the really cool interesting flavours, concepts, products and price points. For the price point it is definitely worth a shot. And the customer service was astounding.
I am excited that there is a local quality chocolatier and I no longer have to stop by a few of the other places that have hidden prices. Everything was up front and there was no hidden packaging charges or any wrapping fees like a few places (e.g., Bernard Callebaut’s Cococo Café). They even had samples of a few of their truffles. I love the style of their boxes too. It’s nice to know that each and every chocolate is of equal quality, unlike a few places where the different colour indicates a different cocoa some how costing significantly more than the rest.
I loved the concept of preparing different chocolates each season the most! I grabbed the summer selection and I absolutely love the turquoise truffle. I also grabbed another box for my office mates and I happily did that as it wasn’t breaking my bank.
At first I was confused about what was different (thinking boxes were different than the chocolates behind the counter) but the gentleman explained what boxes were each product and was super helpful in my final decision. And when I left he said thank you, have a great day and thank you for welcoming us to the neighbourhood (as I told him I work down the street from them). I thought that was a super nice detail to remember. good customer service is always tough to come by!
I think Jacek chocolates would be a fantastic idea for a gift. I am definitely heading back there to try the fondue chocolate I saw on the shelf!

Jacqueline Jacek, Strathcona County’s very own cocoanista has finally opened her second chocolate couture boutique! What a great location for her new store, the ever popular 104 street in downtown Edmonton.
Jacquie was voted one of North America’s top 5 chocolatiers! One bite of her amazing creations is all you need to to agree and become an addict!
She prepares a new line of chocolates for each season, basing this on fashion haute couture. Only a few favourites are kept on with new ones taking centre stage just like fashion!
My favourites are Root Beer, Gin and Tonic, Salted Caramel, and the Jacquie chocolate bar.
The Jacquie is not seasonal. You can find it in a few specialty stores as well. In Sherwood Park, Save-​On Foods carry it, as does The Pan Tree Kitchen.
Jacqueline also participates in a fundraiser to help build houses for orphans in Africa! Be sure to buy her special line of chocolates to help support this charity!
And in winter… Be sure to purchase her sipping chocolate, it’s sinfully delightful!

Jacek has been a well known high quality, melt-​in-​your-​mouth chocolatier from Sherwood Park for a few years and is now in Edmonton. A cozy boutique on the street with the best boutiques, the 4^th street promenade.
I was blown away by the Gin ‘n tonic truffle. Delicious notes of juniper in this truffle. I am a little biased though, since I love gin. The Chartreuse truffle was also quite delicious, with a bold, roasted pistachio paste in the centre. However, I expected it to have more crunch, perhaps because it’s a nut. It was still masterfully executed.
The 91% cocoa glow bar is spectacular. Really smooth for a high cocoa chocolate, the ginger plays a respectful role in the balance of the flavours, while the kick of red chilli flakes spice at the end just gives it a bit of that swoon factor.
Great location, perfect size for a boutique shop and I imagine my Farmers market Credo coffees to be well complemented by their truffles for years to come.
