I love the openness of this café compared to their other locations. I came here for a mini siesta on a Sunday afternoon to get in some leisurely reading and a cup of americano(absolutely divine). Ohhh and their baked goods look too good to past up so I got a peach pocket as well(who am I kidding?) The pizzas that kept arriving at other tables did not go unnoticed. I will have to try them the next time I am here. I literally had to drag myself out of there to not order one and spoil my appetite for that evening’s dinner plans.

I’ve frequented the Italian Centre many times but have never ate at their café, Spinelli’s Bar Italia. Well, my friends wanted to check out the west end location, which is the only Spinelli’s that offers pizza(Little Italy and south side location do not). The café is located to the right of the grocery store but there are a few tables outside if you want to enjoy the sunshine. Order at the counter and wait for the food to be brought to your table. Very basic, cafeteria style but the place was reasonably busy for a late Monday afternoon. Pretty smart of the Italian Centre to open a café in their stores. All the ingredients are right there for them to use! — Prosciutto arugula($ 14.00) — prosciutto, arugula, baby tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. Generous portions of thinly sliced, fresh prosciutto(that wasn’t too salty) with a tangy, sweet balsamic vinegar drizzled over top. I’m pretty sure arugula and prosciutto are just meant to be. Best pizza combo. We had some difficulties separating the slices as the prosciutto was in such long strip but it’s okay, we figured it out. — Capricciosa($ 12.00) — prosciutto and artichokes. We actually ordered the calabrese pizza but the lady working the counter inputted our order wrong. The capricciosa was more mild but had a slight sourness from the artichokes. Both pizzas were thin crust style with a light crunch to them. They felt quite light and healthy. Overall, we were pretty happy with our pizza orders and I would definitely come back to try a few more things. Or next time, I’ll make sure to come Friday to grab some of their fresh pizza dough to make at home. Definitely a solid spot in town to grab pizza.

Great little café to sit, have a coffee and a pastry, and enjoy the people around you! This is located in the Italian Centre West end location, and is a great little addition to your grocery experience. My friend made the comment it’s the most expensive cup of coffee since I enjoy it here and then go spend at least $ 60 in groceries every time! Every time I’ve come here the café is packed! The staff are super friendly, the food is delightful, and the coffee is fantastic. My only wish is that they were to have wifi, as I’ve been a few times here for work meetings. The west end has definitely been made better by the addition of this little gem.

Great café, much better than all of the neighboring fast food chains. Would definitely go back.

We have always loved the Spinelli’s on 95th street, so we were super happy when this one opened. It lives up to its name! This location has amazing staff and amazing food. You can literally order anything out of the glass casing, both desserts and non-desserts, or you can order off their menu. The staff have consistently been friendly and willing to help, which to me is HUGE! And, to top it off, you can have a glass of wine or a beer with your meal, which may feel weird as you watch people shop for their food, but that wears off within a few sips. ;) As of now, they have tables outside, which is where my husband and I love to sit; however, I’m assuming it will be indoor only during winter(even though we would still probably love to sit outside). We normally order the cappuccino, which my husband loves, and espresso, which I love. The croissants are always amazing with our coffee. The one thing I know is that Spinelli’s didn’t stay in business this long for no reason. My husband has memories of his dad sitting and talking to a group of men in the one on 95th street, and the fact that it has lasted this long(and opened up a new, large shop) gives credit to the service, food, and drinks. We always feel that wonderful and charming Italian culture when we go in there. In short, you won’t be disappointed. Note: It can get quite busy during the weekend days. You may have a hard time finding somewhere to sit. You can always shop as you wait out the guests, but you can also come on weekday evenings to really experience a quieter, but just as authentic, setting.

There are some really amazing areas in Edmonton that are filled with fabulous locally owned shops and delicious locally owned restaurants and cafes… And then there is the west end. While it has always been a great place to live, the far west end of Edmonton has and is primarily filled with big box and chain stores. So, it is so fantastic that the Italian Centre Market and with it, a Spinelli’s, has landed right next door to big bad WEM! This location of Spinelli’s is big, bright and airy with a ton of tables. The cappuccino is amazing. The cannolis are to die for. The lunch specials including the 14″ super thin crust pizza are awesome. The wonderful girls working behind the counter are so nice and incredibly friendly. And the whole place is managed by Gio whom is doing a fantastic job bringing the spirit of Little Italy to the west. So go do your weekly grocery shopping at the Italian Centre Market West, then sit down in Spinelli’s, sip a cappuccino and enjoy life!
